Kinda obvious it beat the Z.

Might as well say a Ferrari Enzo can beat a Ford Pinto.

well ,stock for stock, in a straight line gto, .......but i do see them hit high 13s on the track which Zs do hit 13.8 .6 so, ......but a TT Z i got my money on that from a roll and from a dig lighter and similar power . Stock suspenison isnt that impresive compared to a Z but there modifed part are on par with Z so , .....modified i see it to be a good cometator with the Z edging in cornering

Now there is a much bigger difference with those you mentioned. The 400hp runs 13 flat or better. Stock Z runs high 13s. My bro has the 350hp GTO and gets me less than 1/2 car 0-100 run. So with +50hp your talking about .5sec quicker. Remember the GTO weights 500lbs more than the Zs. I drove my bro GTO and it feels floaty more bounce. Definetely sucks in the twisties made for straight line performance.

I don't think we would stand much of a chance against an '05 GTO from a dig. I'm not totally sure from a roll, but I think the GTO would still have the advantage. Was there a price increase between the '04 and '05 GTOs?

There are a lot of cars that can beat the Z in a straight line. It doesn't mean I would want any of those cars or that they are so much better.

What if GTO was sportin' a 100 shot of NOS or a blower? Think it would be close from either standing start or rollon from 40mph? Not trying to be argumentative, just after opinions.

I was able to walk away from a 2004 with bald tires and a very poor launch. My mods are now pulley exhaust intake. I think with a couple more mods I should be able to run neck and neck with a 2005 GTO. Hmmm... We'll see.

The thread is referring to the '05...which has 400hp.

This doesn't have a lot to do with the thread. Someone asked how a Z would do against it with a turbo kit.

We are not going to get into which one has more potential and/or which one can be made faster for the same amount of money/parts.

BTW, average '04 GTO's were running 13.4s, I imagine this ('05s) is going to run 13.1s with a decent driver. Low 12s with a good driver. The Z runs 13.6 at best, 13.8 with a good driver, 14.0 with a decent driver, 14.2 with a "needs to practice" driver.

lets talk about engine size too....3.5 vs 6.0.....nearly twice as big...287 vs 400...thats weak for a 6.o..shitload of torque tho...but..what if you had 400hp on an NA 350z...man...that would run 12's all day....with a 400lbs difference....for every 200lbs less you gain .1 sec in the quarter mile...so .2 secs for 400... that would be the only dissadvantage for the gto then since it weighs 400 more...but the z would walk over the GTO...

You'd be better off comparing the GTO with an '03 '04 Cobra.
