I dont care what y'all are saying about traction, tock the Z got 5.8 0-60 (gtech)
after my extensive mods including suspension wheels tires and a stillen stage 3
i got 4.9 0-60 (with a friend driving, I ccouldnt stand launching my baby...)

With the GReddy TT kit that dynoed at 348RWHP/327lb-ft at 5.1psi, The best time I got was 13.30 @107.9 in the 1/4. If you notice the high trap speed, I had no traction. Also the gearing is just stupid on the Z. At about 106 I had to shift to 5th gear. That's 2 extra shifts than a Z06 Corvette going at the same speed. I hope to post better times now. My last dyno was 380RWHP/360lb-ft@6.5psi. I should be breaking 110's trap speed. Hopefully I'll be around the mid 12's with my better wheels/tires.

If you want to build a better 1/4 mile car... this is what you need to do...
Either get rid of the TEIN FLEX or get a softer spring rate in the rear... 400lbs/in...
Get the Stillen Camer and Toe arms and set the rear of your car a little higher and as close to 0degree camber as you can... Keep in mind the car will sit down when you launch...
If you get all of your tires foot print on the ground rather then only the inside edge, and you have a softer suspension in the rear, you wont wheel hop as easily and you can launch at a higher rpm with more of a foot print from the rear tires...
But then when you go on a road course (which the Z was originally made for) a stock Z will take you on the corners...
This goes for everyone... If you want a 0-60 car... you need to convert your Z into a car that doesnt handle as well in the corners... (by doing the above)

Hm.. electronic camber adjustment... I've seen this on a concept somewhere... as you turn, adjust tire camber to the g-load. That way you have most tread straight and in curves .

Jeez, It has in fact been a while since I had the Z....
I think my Stillen rear camber arms were at...ermm....2 or 3 degrees?
And I dont know tire pressure, I wanna say 32 but dont quote me on that.
And I think the rears were...they were nismo wheels, 9 and a half inches so I am thinking 265 rears
And Another reason why I couldnt stand launching it is because I sucked at it and didnt want my car to explode into a billion pieces.
Any other questions??
EDIT: Rears were BFGoodrich KDW 1's

...sigh, yes I sold it. To a wealthy french canadian, for lots of money.
I proceeded to get a BMW Z4, which broke down
BMW made me pay for its lemon
I am forced to drive my Echo until I can pay for my pride
erm...a Z...
that is the short version of a LONG story...

I had the same problem Smoked mentions above. In the 1/4, I was able to pull a trap speed just a hair under 110mph, but my times were attrocious. Best was just over 13.6sec. Definite lowend traction issues. Even so, I'm certain my car is in sub-5 second range based on some of the vehicles I can run with from a stop.
Definitely a big difference going from a roll... the Frankenstein Z will snap your head back at the right RPM range and just goes (very little spin).
