Good morning officer
Driving to work this morming (4:30 am) I felt a little racey with the Z. Only 2 cars in sight- mine and what I thought was on old plymouth. Well, I launched from a red light rather aggressively and when I got up to 70 I noticed this old car was staying on my bumper. So what else to do but pull ahead. At 80 mph this old car's lights came on and I pulled over.
Cop: "Good morning, sir."
Me: "Good morning officer."
Cop: "You might want to tone it down just a tad."
Me: "I certainly will and thanks for the advice."
Cop: "Have a nice day"
Me: "You too,whew!"
He could have burned me if he wanted to-speed limit was 55.
My lucky day.

Usually if you have all your info ready when he comes to the window and drop the "cocky" attitue and admit to your mistake, the cop will go easy. Remember, the cop is worried that you will pull a gun. Remember this once he goes back to the car and starts the "paperwork" there is no chance for a warning if he come back with a ticket. It aslo helps if you have a pal on the police force like I do. He is my next door neighbor and I went out and ran the snowblower for him during a bad snowstorn before he came home from his shift. I told him I may need his help this summer.
