Default Adding Navigation for my New Z in MD

Hello My350Z.com. GREAT SITE!

I was in the market for the G35 Coupe and thought I owed it to myself to check out the Z. The Nissan dealer offered me $5000 more for my 2000 Toyota Truck than Infiniti and said he had a Redline Touring 6MT coming the next day that was available. I looked at one and fell in love. F the passengers right? They did hit me with a $995 "Environmental Fee." tacked on to the sticker, but they gave me $4000 over blue book for my trade in, so I guess it is OK.

My Salesperson said he could add the Navigation after the sale. Is he mistaken?

I haven't heard of anyone being able to add the "factory type" navigation system at the dealer or in the aftermarket yet. You would be the first as far as I know.

I haven't heard of it being possible to add the Nissan Navigation after delivery of the Z. I believe that they install it in the factory, and that would cause some problems, but who knows. Did he say that they were still going to charge the 2000 bucks for it or was it at a premium. Whatever happens, good luck with it and congratulations on the Z!

Default Congrats!

And welcome!

Nice to see your supporting the environment - a markup you can feel good about

I believe your dealer is mistaken. The Nissan NAV system is a factory installed option only (at this time), right all? He was probably referring to aftermarket solutions. I am interested in adding NAV/DVD but am waiting for the aftermarket to go beyond the "experimental" stage.

if your dealer can add the factory NAv it will be the first.....since the beginning I have always been told its a factory option only...but hell anything is possible. but the cost for converting it maybe alot since they will have to rewire alot of stuff.

same thing happened to me.

I bought mine sat w/o nav, but paid for it. The dealer told me that it would be "buttah" to add.
Now, it seems that there's a wiring harness that they may need. The verdict is still out, but I'm researching a SICK aftermarket setup to replace it. If you want the stock NAV...wait for the right car, I think they BS'd me. I'll keep you posted. I get the final answer tomorrow.

why go with the factory nav? i'll set you up with something that will perform better and cost you less my installer looked at my car, and that big ol' compartment in the upper dash and said "if that wasn't made for a video screen, i don't know what was. easy!" he sold me. i might just have to be the guinea pig, i guess.

Well, turns out they CANNTO go stock.

The fools offered me an audiovox w/ a 5" screen.

I said nah hook me up with the kenwood touchscreen.

Unfortunately, the delaer's guy isnt kenowwd authorized, so I went with the Alpine. Its not touch screen, but hey....it could be worse...
