Default Engine Noise....

i remember how noise the Integra Type-R was, and I don't mean at a high rpm.... even at 2000~3000 rpm acceleration

that car was just loud, like the engine was sitting next to you or something...

is this true with the Z?
i know the engine has FM placement, so does it get loud in the car? i also don't mean the exhaust noise...

hope you guys understand what i am asking and shine some light toward my way... thanks..

Default Engine noise

The Z is loud, but not as loud as an Intega Type-R. Both cars are hatchbacks and you get some the road rumble typical of hatchbacks, no surprise. Its also loud under moderately heavy acceration. I am still breaking the car in at 940 miles approx. so I have had only 2 occasions at high rpm, I had to get away from a couple of trucks so I floored it.

Its loud then, but it is a power sound, not harsh or jarring and I didn't get above 5500rpm for a short burst to get out of the way. Steady travel in top gear, I have an 5AT, is probably a little less or equal to a 170HP Integra or my old 91 MR2T.

At low speeds it really sounds great. I use the manual mode on my 5AT a lot in town and it has a really great growl from 1500 to 4000rpm(recommended limit during breakin period). As a result, I run it w/o the radio or cd player on at all, just so I can hear the exhaust. The 350Z has the best low rpm sports car exhaust sound I have ever heard, short of a Ferrari or an old Jaguar XKE. Hope this is helpful to you.

I don't think some read your email correctly...

The car is noisy yes...but only from the exhaust. I do not hear any noise from teh engine compartment. Infact, all I do hear is occasional gear whining up...almost as if a turbo charger is kicking in..but very very fainly.....not always.

The exhaust is all you hear (with winndows closed or open).
