Somedays I think "its so cliche that a sports car speeds" and go exactly the limit... but most days when there isn't much traffic i am going "a few" over.

I'm originally from germany and these posted speed limits are a joke honestly. When an police officer pulls me over, they always asked. Do you know why I pulled you over? Then they would answer their own question as to you were speeding in a blah zay blah zay. Sometimes I want to tell them are you serious, do you really think I was going to kill myself or anyone else. I feel where some of yall are coming from when there's hardly any traffic on the highways and the road could be judge by us as to what is safe for the road conditions to be driven at. I'm use to averaging 260 clicks in germany which is over 160mph and could have gone faster but that's like good enough for me. These 70 mph signs are nerve wrecking and a new law should be done about these out of city speed limits on the highways. The state of montana speed limit is flexible from what I hear, why can't everybody else adapted for change. Life is a changing evolution and the government always wants to dictate everything everybody does. I very much do speed as long as I have my passport 8500 x50 on the windshield.

Don't we all, though I'm highly amused when people in lesser cars speed pass me, especially when I'm in the Cobra. It's like, whatever, dude.

Damn right I speed....within limits, but I didn't buy this car solely for her looks!

That would be like havin' a smokin' hot girlfriend and never..uhh ...um....havin' "relations" with her (was that PC?)
LOL!

As other peeps have said, If I wanted a half-decent performer and NOT exercise my Need for Speed, I would have bought a boring azz Toyota Camry V6 with auto tranny.

I try and keep it within 10-15mph over, mainly because i cant afford a speeding ticket. But there are other ways to have fun. stoplights and such are always nice. going 0-50 real quick is more fun than cruising down the highway at 90 or 100, i could do that in an SUV. Nice curvy roads, theres a section by me with alot of tight back roads...the limit is 40 and some of the turns i wouldnt take much faster than that. On ramps are always a good time too, but i usually take it up to 90 or 100 for that. It amazes and annoys me how SLOW some people take onramps, do they not know that merging is much easier if your going the same speed as traffic?

I'd rather have a speed limit so that there is an absolute certainty whether or not I am within the law. I would hate to leave that up to someone else's discretion!

I try not to go more than 10 or so over the speed limit, but if you aren't paying attention on the highway its so easy to end up going alot faster. Just have to hope that you notice before the cops do I guess.

Back to the original question....No I don't always do the speed limit nor does anybody else. The car is too fast and too much fun to drive slow. As most of the Z owners on the forum though, I don't drive wreckless to put my Z in jeopeordy or anyone other drivers, I don't tailgate, and I'm in control. I got my first ticket on Superbowl Sunday, the Cop said I was doing 85 to 90 on the freeway and gave me a ticket for 80. He was right, I was doing that speed but I was humble and nice to the cop so he gave mea break. I told him after he gave me the ticket "I try to pick my spots with this car, I guess I picked the wrong spot". He smiled and said "Yup, ya did!. The moral of the story I'm 56 and still speeding and you youngsters out there are going to speed, just do it under control with safety of you, your Z, and the other folks on the road in mind.

Yes. I speed.
Yes. I drive the speed limit.
In light or no traffic with excellent conditions and visibility, I will drive over the speed limit but not over the safety limit. If I'm doing 90 on the interstate and come up on the soccer mom in the minivan doing 60 in the right hand lane, I'll slow to 5 mph over her speed, signal as I approach to let her know my intent, pass at that speed, signal my lane change back to the right a safe distance in front and then accelerate.
If there is much traffic going 70-75 (or any other speed), then that is the speed I go until traffic thins.
I don't feel that my being able to go over the speed limit gives me the right to put ANYBODY else at risk.

Everyday.
When condtions are right 100+ is not uncomman but alas they are rarely right.

After moving to the Northeast I am driving a bit more carefully, ie more woried about Cops.

Fred..

I believe it is impossible not to..................The most for fun me is not necessarily high speed but rather banging through the gears from a stop up to 60 or 70. Problem is the speed limit tends to 45 or 50 when I do it. Because I usually hit the next red light, I’m sure those I leave at the previous light think “what an ***, speeds away but didn’t get any further than me”…………………
