Default Updated Info on Tein Flex Damps and Volk TE-37s...

Well, I was busy all day installing the nav-tv RGB converter (works great!!!!)... I come back to my PC to the following information in some emails:

1) Mackin Industries will not be bringing the 19x10.5" rim to the US. They said they are worried about fitment problems since Rays told them its really for JDM cars only. The only way to get the 10.5 is to have someone in Japan buy them, and have them shipped. I ended up ordering the 19x9.5 in the rear.

2) My front wheels (19x8.5") will be drop shipped to me by the end of the month. The rears will come in January ... What a tease!!!

3) I ordered Tein Flex Damps for my car, and to my surprise, they will be here before the end of the year! I will have the first set for consumers. In fact, I will have the only kit sold this year... its in transit now. The next shipment won't hit our shores until mid-January. I also ordered the EDFC kit cause I am lazy

4) The installation manual for the Flex Damps on the Z33 is now available: http://www.tein.com/ti/p24.html

I am happy since I get 1/2 my wheels and suspension kit soon, but unhappy that I won't be getting 10.5's, and the 9.5's won't be here until January...

Here are some links to Tein stuff in case you were interested:

SKi,
Damn some more..........
I've been waiting ever since you posted your intent to run the 305's on 10.5's. I wonder what could be different on JDM cars rear suspension. Did you have any prior knowledge that the 305's would fit or were you just going to stick them on and see. What size do you plan to mount now?

Wink Sorry to hear that!

What a big tease??? I guess you won't be putting them on until the full set of rims come in? Why the TEIN FLEX? Aren't they a univeral coilover setup?

Wow, great info.....

The Flex type is application specific, the one for the Z is just now coming out (along with HKS and others).

What color wheels did you get, and does he have the ability to order custom colors?

Cool Ski, mind telling me how much for the Tein?

I wish I have that much money to put on my car! Just a rough number on how much for the Tein would be fine. I will be going to Taiwan and HK in a week, and I'll try to do some shopping for parts while I am there!

Thanks for the kind words Michael. The Tein Flex system retails for $1,880 and the EDFC unit retails for $380. I cannot post the current discount on here, so email me for a quote. I was really bummed about the 10.5's not coming over also, but I'm sure there is a good reason, because we all know they would sell like hotcakes.

I was in Taiwan a month ago and could not find anything, I am not sure about HK. I am headed to Japan next week and plan to grab as much as I can bring back....

Also, who do you work for in Fremont (if you don't mind me asking), that is were my company is based out of (I was there last week)....

Is the TEIN FLEX height and dampening adjustable for all 4 shocks?

Electronic Damping Force Controller

Both are adjustable, but the EDFC only controls Damping, not ride hieght (someone correct me if I am wrong).....

flex damps are ride height and spring rate adjustable for all 4 corners...(i think camber is only adjustable up front with the slotted pillowball mounts).

the edfc only controls dampening, not ride height or camber adjustable.

SkiDazzle,

Did you try going to Top Secret for the Volks? I notice they have the 10.5 width on their site, so perhaps they'll sell it to you.

Jeremy,

Do you know anything about the Tein Super Street system for the 350Z? I was looking very seriously at getting that when it comes out.

I printed the instructions, and the first page says "The product may not be installed in vehicles driven on public roads". Whats up with that? I can understand components that alter smog or defeat safety features, but what possible reason would cause a suspension mod to be off-road use only?

Even funnier is a few pages in it says to check with local regulations regarding ride height after installation. If its off-road only, then local regs don't mean squat. Its amazing, half the pages are devoted to disclaimers.
