Default New Tranny, easier than i thought!

Hey guys,
so i brought my car ( 03 touring ) to the dealer yesterday for service because my clutch would squeak when i'd press it. told the nissan mechanic my prob and he said he'd look into it. he said my car would be done the next day in the morning. so i woke up and called the dealer. the lady picks up and i ask to speak to the mechanic, she connects me and the mechanic tells me he has bad news. now im really worried and i ask him whats wrong. he replied "were going to keep your car for another week because your tranny needs to be replaced." then he apoligized for the inconvinience and i told him not to worry about it. i hung up with him and screamed with joy. do you guys know if they replace tranny with the 05 one? and also, do they give me the 05 clutch and flywheel. has any one had there tranny replaced and had any problems? and did you notice a difference in the drive. all comments are appreciated. thanks alot
Andrew

I can't answer any of your questions, but that's nice that you're getting a new tranny. Very cool.

NO, his clutch was just sqeaking, he got a new tranny because his tranny was jacked up. Squeaking could have occured because of the messed up tranny although i wouldnt quote me on that one.

He didn't mention anything about his tranny being jacked up, only that his clutch was squeaking. If it was jacked up enough for it to be replaced, you'd think he'd have issues switching gears or hear/feel something else. At least IMO...

the only problem i had with my tranny was that when i'd press the clutch in to shift from 1st to 2nd it made a clunking noise. i never had any gear grinding issues or anything else like that. how long did you have to wait for your tranny to be repaced Mc350z? and also what do you mean by its hard to put it in 1st and 2nd, does the shifter slip out or it just needs a little more force? thanks for the replies guys. keep em' coming!

finally got my car back! the clutch feels soooo smooth now, theres really a huge difference between the 05 and 03 clutches. its harder to put the car in 5th and 6th gear now for some reason. and my 5th and 6th gear are really close to my 3rd and 4th gears. does anyone know if thats normal? overall im very happy, its great to have my baby back!!

My clutch went from bolt-action to bolt-clunk-action.

ok guys, went to the dealer today and told them what was going on. one of the managers got in the car with me and i showed him the "clunking" noise. he seemed concerned but sayed "let me go get one of the 05's and see if it makes the same noise" so he does and i get in with him. he drives around for awhile and cant get it to manipulate the noise coming from my car but he keeps trying. lol finally he gets it to do it once. after he gets it he says "see its normal, but yours is obviously more frequent and alot louder". he told me it might be the clutch and that he'd call missan tomorrow morning and see what the tell him to do. he seemed like a nice guy and i think their going to end up replacing my entire clutch instead of just the clutch disk like last time. hopefully it will all be resolved shorty! has anyone had any similar problems?
