Default No more Daytona Blue?

Can it be? I was at the Pinnacle Nissan dealer [biggest nissan dealer in AZ] and was talking to one of the fleet managers who told me that for the '06 model Z`s, DB would be discontinued and nissan would be adding a new color.. My question here is, why?? I know a countless number of people who are head over heels in love with their DBZ`s, and I myself have grown quite fond of them..

Has anyone else heard this?

No way is that true unless the new color is another shade of blue. I mean, they have gone through countless numbers of silvers. Why get rid of an awesome color? If anything I would think they would get rid of one of the silvers. DB, Lemans, and Redline aren't the colors you see a lot but they are still very much loved. I still think that the fact they ended brickyard was odd. I guess they did it with the introduction of the roadster. A brick roadster would look quite odd IMO. But still, what's wrong with offering more colors? At least people could order the colors that dealers may not want to carrry.

Were you discussing your buying a car now and a blue one was not on the lot? If so, there's your answer.

When looking at buying a Zzzz I went to a local dealer for a test ride; while the salesguy went to get a key another salesbag starts talking. I mention I want a Brickyard & the says "Oh, they don't make the model you want in Brickyard". My response can't be printed here!

I doubt anyone has a clue of 06 colors yet.

there were plenty of DB`s on the lot. The salesman actually took me into the back to show me all the Z`s they had available, and that`s when I noticed that there were a LOT of DB`s. That`s when I asked about the DBZ sales and he responded by telling me they were going to be discontinued.

Right, so you better buy one now because there won't be any next year.

That kind of makes me happy! DB will be a rarity instead of a common thing around here.

it seems like many dealers have a lot of DB z's on their lots, maybe it wasnt a big selling color? I like it and have seen a few so i doubt it didnt sell well but you never know.

I always liked the blue. I chose the silver because its easy to maintain and you can't see swirls.

Just because they stop making the color doesn't mean you won't see them on the highway. They still made them from 2003-present.

Daytona Blue was my first choice, then Le Mans Sunset, and finally Pikes Peak White. Then I started looking to order and Pikes Peak White moved up to #1 and DB took #2.

May be he was trying to promote the color, since they had so many on their lot. But if it was true, I dont know if I like the idea or not :

* Since I have daytona blue, it would meke it rare, better for me.
* but if later on I want to upgrade to a later model and I want daytona blue it would be too bad they dont have them any more!
