Liability coverage on the race track?

Hey Coach, it seems that alot of teams have run over the gators this year......Oh, wait a minute, your talking about car accidents. Sorry.
I agree, though, I don't know if allstate would go for covering a track accident at metrozoo this weekend. So if anyone has any ideas for track coverage let us know.

J/k, the Canes are great. Since the season is coming up, I thought a little joking would be in good taste. Well actually, our season does not start until November when we play U. Mich. The rest of the games are just practice
I agree with Boiler, you would be mad to drive without any sort of Liability coverage…
After talking with several USAA Insurance Underwriters (and subsequent talks with upper management) USAA has finally come up with a response to my HDPE inquires:
“NO YOU ARE NOT COVERED.”
USAA cites Part C of the insurance agreement “EXCLUSIONS” paragraph 5:
“While occupying any vehicle when it is being operated in, or in practice for, any speed contest.” The USAA underwriters made it clear that participating in HDPE events is considered to be practice for a speed contest.
So my thinking is to give Progressive and State Farm a call and see what they have to say. Besides, USAA is charging me around $1400 a year for insurance which I believe is pretty high – it might be time to shop around for a better deal anyways.
One thing I am still looking for information on is supplemental insurance that could be purchased the day before a track event. I don't need track insurance every day, just the days that I’m out there. USAA told me that they don’t offer anything like this. Looking at the SCCA and NASA websites didn’t provide me with any information either. Has anyone heard of this type of insurance?

USAA vs. Progressive.
I switched to Progressive 6 months ago and went from 1500/6 mos. to 1100, for slightly better coverage.
Since I'm up for renewal, I checked with USAA yesterday to see their current prices and they now quote me almost 3500 for 6 mos! Needless to say, I'm staying with progressive.

How do you pay so much for insurance??? My wife and I both have clean driving records (thank god for traffic school) and we pay $300/month, but that is for the 350Z and Infiniti I35, life insurance, Long term disability insurance, and home owners? All through State Farm. The biggest chunk of that is the Z at about $100/month so $600/6months.

With Progressive, the Z is $612, The G35c is 441 and the S-10 is 306.
