Default My dealership screwed up, but its good!!

Hey all. I ordered my 35th anni Z last September, and have to take delivery on May 24th as thats when I get back into the country. So my dealer was going to put it into the March production lineup, and have it delivered in April, so I can take delivery in May. But somehow it was screwed up and it is already in the lot!! Argh I cant wait until I get back home to pick it up in May!! The wait begins...actually it had begun a long time ago, but this is the real tough part as I know its ready for me...all the parts are waiting at home to be installed!! May 24th May 24th May 24th...........

Alex

Do you get nightmares that the odometer might read past 1 mile? (For an ordered car, it better have less than a few miles).

The dealership has to drive it at least a few miles. (Around here it's at least 5 but not more than 10) They do this to make sure there are no extremely obvious defects. Like a tire falling off for instance. Or an engine randomly exploding. LOL

Not sure if thats completely true, it may be variable from dealer to dealer. Believe it or not, my friend picked up his IS300 with 1 Mile on the odo.

Probably varies from dealer to dealer like you said. It should take more than 1 or 2 miles for any major defect to rear its ugly head.

while miles on the odometer for a new car doesnt necessarily mean anything bad, i have a friend who works at a dealership driving brand new cars and he will beat the everliving **** out of a car with under 5 miles on it....pretty damn scary if you ask me....oh well, i guess thats what warranties are for....

Can't you request to be there during the dealerships test run?
