Default clutch pedal sticks to floor when I drive hard

I have a tilton street clutch.

Just did my first track day today (fun!)

my first session was fine. My 2nd session the clutch stuck to the floor a couple times. I'd have to pull it up from the floor with my foot. And even then, it'd just go back down again when I pushed it.

The rest of my sessions I did in 3rd gear only - imagine how limiting that would be - because it'd always stick to the ground.

During my last 2 sessions. I started out and it shifted from 1, 2, 3, and 4 just fine. I then spent about 5 laps in 3rd gear only to play it safe. Then I'd try shifting to 2nd and it'd stick.

When I'd finish a session, after a minute of cooling down, it'd drive fine again - though seems to still push in easier than before.

What is it?

Is it my clutch fluid boiling? There's plenty of fluid. My car has 9600 miles on it. I had my brake fluid flushed about 3600 miles ago with Motul. I swtiched to redline trans oil about 2500 miles ago.

I've had a similar problem where when on the highway, i'd hit the gas hard, then when i get up to around 80mph, i'd try putting it in 6th and it won't go at all. Actually, it wouldn't go into any gear at that point. Finally after like 10 long sec, it'd finally go into 6th
This HAS happened to me once on the highway after a long rush hour.

Anyone have this problem or similar in their Z or another car? Is it the transmission, clutch, or clutch fluid??

thanks

I still have my warrenty, but knowing the local nissan dealers, they'd just point to my clutch, trans oil, or maybe even short shifter as the source of the problem and tell me to get lost...

Prob slave or master cylinder...I had this same problem today at a drift event. It just happens alot when it gets overheated. A friends S2000 used to do it as well, so I assume its regular in other cars as well, but im not totally sure.

oh, btw, I have a 03 track model with the brembo brakes and also added SS brake lines

can the master cylinder be fixed or improved? I'm assuming the car isn't supposed to do this. Car otherwise performed perfectly with my driving skill being the weak link

I thought I read that it was caused by the fluid in the lines getting to the boiling point.

which fluid? the clutch fluid or brake fluid?

or do they share the same line? I'm a little confused how that works

how can I prevent the fluid from boiling? Is just recently replacing it all it takes? Like I said, my brake fluid was just replaced about 3600 or so miles/4 months ago.

my stock brembo pads are squeeling really bad now - probably shot, was expecting them to be anyway since they had 9600 miles of normal driving before the track day.

so is it possible to prevent the clutch fluid from boiling with the tilton or is this a flaw/trade off with the tilton?

Is just replacing the fluid before a track session enough to prevent boiling?

If the tilton is going to cause me this much trouble, I'm going to rip it out and replace with an ATS ASAP and just be done with it

I do not think it has anything to do with the tilton. Pushing your car hard is going to cause alot of heat no matter what clutch. Just my opinion.

ok, found this thread

jason gives one possible explanation there

either way, looks like I'll try taking it to the dealer and see if they'll fix whatever it ends up being...
