Did the people that bought these 350Z's buy them for their performance, engine, driving, cargo room, looks, or what? That's all I was asking...I didn't mean to condemn the car, I'm still interested in it and was hoping people could lend their advice. The comment you make about driving it - I can't drive it! None of the Nissan dealerships in my area (I called 5) would let me drive it until I put down a down payment and signed for the car...
Plus, this message asked if there were news about updates to the 350Z such as the twin-turbo or why sunroof/targa/t-tops aren't offered and whether they will be? Also, will there be any changes to the car for next year or any time thereafter? what about the convertible?
what are the differences between each model in simple terms? like what can you get w/ the touring that isn't possible w/ the other models that is worth the extra $?

The convertible will be based on the Touring model and isn't here yet, next spring or in Feb. is what we have been told. It will be slower than the standard Z because convertibles are usually heavier than their coupes because you need to add extra bracing for a convertible, the C5vette is an exception because it was designed as a convertible first.
If you want a Subaru, buy it. Its a homely fast, small sedan, not a 2 seat sports car like the Z. What do you mean by versatility? I bought my Z for performance, looks, handling and the VQ engine, it is one of the finest, most durable and award winning V6's in the world and it has 97 HP more than my wife's 99 Maxima, which is no slouch in the performance dept. either. Also, with the exception of a few exotic cars, I think the design of the Z is one of the Best looking cars on the road. Go to NissanDriven.com for all of the features and models of the Z.
The Celica isn't even in the same league as the Z and dealers aren't giving test drives to teenagers who just want to drive it and have no intention of buying one, because it is a rare car at the moment and very few dealers have demos.
