Default My first rattle

I'm getting a rattle or more like a buzz from 3500rpm to 4000rpm only durring WOT. Sounds like it is from the passanger side of the car. Any ideas (besides the common passanger vanity mirror)? I just heard it this morning and have yet to try the paper in the vanity mirror trick or have a passanger fiddle with things while I try to replicate the sound. I have not heard it before because I just reached the point in break in where I consider it ok to floor it to higher RPM. I'm at 1600km's (just short of the 2000km break in period, but I couldnt wait any longer .

She'll be fine. I red lined her today in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. She's a screamer and wants more!! 680 miles.

I dont think I'm whinning. I love the car. Think it is amazing value. I have orange peel, but so does my mothers BMW 5 series so I would never expect any more. I do think that this is a great place to come to figure out what problems are should we encounter any. I did not post "my vanity mirror is rattling". If I knew that, I would got to the dealer and have it fixed. I was just curious if anyone else experienced a similar rattle and if they know what the cause is to save me some time.

May be shifter rattle. My shifter makes a rattle as it approaches 4000 rpm, and it gets worse as it goes toward 5000 rpm. It took awhile for me fix the other rattles (visor, oil guage) and to localize this sound, but once I did I took it to the Dealer, they heard the noise, too, agreed it was a problem. However, dealer can't do anything about it under warrenty until Nissan comes out with a bulletin and a fix. Called Nissan NA over this last week, was given a case number, they have not gotten back to me, even after my repeated phone calls. Very disappointing performance by Nissan.

If Nissan cannot fix my shifter rattle, I will try to get Nissan to buy it back using the lemon law.

Probably your passenger seat belt. Make sure it's clipped into the available hook on the B pillar when not in use.

I am not too sure about a rattle in the shifter, but at around 5k rpms it vibrates like a madman. I am not sure if this is normal, but its like woah the shifter is buzzing. But everything shifts nicely 1st-6th gear no problems.

I am hearing something similar. For me, it's most apparent when I have the music going, especially songs with bass in it. To me, it sounds like the rattling is coming from the speakers from the passenger side as if the speakers are not screw down tight. Haven't had a chance to take it apart to look at it.

I asked my service manager about it last week when I went to the dealership to pick up my car cover. Here is his exact words:
"You bought a Nissan. You did not buy a BMW or Mercedes. BMW and Mercedes make sure they have no rattle in the interior. With a Nissan, you will be expecting some rattling and buzzing. There is nothing we can do about it. Maybe after the Bass fix, you won't hear it anymore..."
This is also the same guy that tell me my center console lid (ordered ~3 1/2 weeks ago) are still back order and the BOSE amp (ordered ~2 weeks ago) are back order as well....

I'm begining to question his ability to take care of my Z.....
