Is black really that hard to keep clean?

I'm still stuck between a redline or a black. My only concern with the black is the fact that it gets dirty real fast. Is it really that big of an issue ? Like how often will I need to wash it in order to keep it shiny?

Every day.
It is a pain, and I swear the BLACK paint is cheap as hell. Scratches even with a towel.
Chips on the front bumper / panel / apron show up like crazy.
I use swirl remover often, and a "cleaner" wax too.
There are better black paint formula's, too bad Nissan didn't use one.
If you wash it weekly, wax it every other week, and Zaino it once monthly, then no,and it looks hawt! But it does collect dust like no other.
My other car that's silver only needs to be washed with waxed car wash mix once-a-month. So, yes.

Dirt shows up more yes, but I don't think it's all that bad. If the car is dry you can use one of those California dusters that is electrostatically charged and dust it off. That keeps my Z looking good through the week. You only need to touch the car lightly and most of the dust comes off. I don't have a problem with scratches or swirls other than what the previous owner put on it. Plus keeping it garaged helps enormously. I run the car through a touch free car wash to get the big stuff off every on to two weeks, and then spot hand wash where necessary with a soft cloth, primarily the nose where all the bugs hit me and the wheels to get the brake dust fully off.

Yes, the day after you wash, you will see a layer of dust already accumulated on it. And lets not mention when it gets rained on. Somehow there was white dust on my car and it drizzled, next thing you know, my hood had a worse waterstained look than my bathroom sink, literally. But when it's clean, it looks like this =D
Sooooo hard to keep clean. I cover my car everyday. I dust it before puting the cover on. It must be washed by hand every week. It's a huge pain. BUT nothing comes close to the look of an SB 350Z when clean. I would't change that for anything.

I don't drive on the highway except for like 2-3 exits. So for mostly city driving, it's not tough to keep clean. But on longer highway trips it gets dirty real quick.
It's so worth it though. There is nothing like a sharp black sportscar. I use the CA duster every morning while the car warms up and give it a quick 15-20min wash once a week and it turns heads.

I think most of you would probably beat me to within an inch of my life if you saw how bad I let my car get sometimes. However right now you can see your reflection on any panel, it just got a nice coat of wax with the random orbit buffer.
There is a happy medium between obsessive compulsive and having a car that looks grey.
I also have a black tahoe that hasn't been washed in about 6 months, you know it is getting bad when a rain storm makes the car cleaner.

The key with black is to not let the dirt build up for too long...a series of short washes when the car's kinda dirty is much easier than a super-involved wash when the car's extremely dirty. Cali duster is a great too to have also...especially during pollen season.
And like everyone says...nothing looks better than black when it's freshly cleaned.

Have had several black cars, including the Z, yeah they show diry faster, but look great when clean. Use a Cali Duster often, lots of Zanio (there's no such this as too much Zaino)
This time of year is worst with the pollen.

Any yes, black is a hassle. I have about 10 layers of Z2 on her, so its very easy to clean. After a cleaning and spray on some Z6, HOTNESS!!
