Default Top Speed whata RUSHHH!!

Picture this: 4 lanes devided with cement barriers 2 each way, no shoulders for about 5 miles, visibility excellent, road dry, traffic none, cops none, road surface almost brand new!, what do you do????

i downshift, accelerate to redline 2 more times, climb past 130, 140,(wind shaking mirros so cant see much behind) 150, 160, 161. . . .it varies bet 157-161 depending on mild grade . and held it there untill i saw cars ahead and coasted back down to 75 man that felt sooo slow!!! ..

other than this i havent been past 150 since my old steath R/T
i have more confidence in this car that i thought i could have, i rarley speed over 80 let alone 100..

needless to say what a RUSH!!!!!! but way to risky to repeat kept thinkin what if.. what if..... anyway now that im satisfied i dont feel the "i wonder how fast I can go" heheh

dont bother with any speed or safety lectures thats not the point of this post
i posted to praise the car and its handeling and FUN factor!!

l8r!!!

Nice. I'm glad you did it while no one was around, in my book thats fine. Its just when people do it when theres other cars around. No use in scaring the poop out of everyone else and possibly crashing into them and killing them

same here, i have no problem with people taking their own lives into their own hands so long as they dont put others at risk.

so well done on your top speed ride - gald you enjoyed and got it out of your system.

161! Could I do that with my current mods? How about with the HKS exhaust, I didnt think this car was faster then 155+ with out some mods...awesome! And good call doing with no one around...

I think this car can do top speed (150ish) stock, but to get any higher you need either to reflash your current computer or buy a new computer. The computer basically cuts fuel at that high of speed so you don't go too fast

well each car is unique, mine likley got those speeds either by calibration error at that speed, (nissan reports 159 electronicly limited) slight grade change or combination of both, maby air temp and elevation.
my car is stock in the powertrain and ecu.
mabey with your mods it would get there faster?? mine basily had the same pull up to 150 and slower pull after that,
however or whatever conditions it still happened and im most pleased

Yea I have seen 161 by other members it doesnt matter about mods. ECU will take lmiter off I think I heard auto is a tad slower top speed 158ish. I got to a little past 140 and ran out of room I had more pedal no more road.... it will do it stock

I'm waiting for Nissan to fix the feathering problem before I get a Z, so in the mean time I'm loving all these posts.

I was curious how you would compare your Z to your Stealth? I topped out my old Mitsu 3000 VR4 at 155mph and it was incredibly stable. The only thing I didn't like was the loud wind noise.

I've been waiting to read that someone has had both the stealth/3K and Z350 so I could get a comparison between the two.

Any words of wisdom?

LOL yea i liked it allot!! at the time i had to let it got for financial reasons or would have kept it.

the stealth was much heavier, but didnt realy matter with my driving, i really loved the AWD and the electronic shocks and exhaust hehe!!

I like the Z also but prefer AWD and rear seats, very wide stance i saw a stealth R/T down the street for 5500 very tempting

z has more "toys" that i like im a tech/ button guy heh
its fun blowin by people in the snow in a sports car hehe

thats about the most i can compare, performance wise was very good , similar to Z considering it was a 92!! same color of blue also

Thanks for the fast reply.

Yeah, there is nothing more fun than doing AWD donuts in the rain. The stealth/3K's were good cars with the exception of some $$$ maintenance issues.
