Nismo Grounding System opinion
Has anybody bought one of these?
If so what are your thoughts? The price seems too cheap [even though shipping is more than item price] for Nismo.

Noooooooooo, that is not NISMO. It says NISMO, but it aint NISMO. The "real" NISMO grounding kit has some pale purple wires and costs like $200, which is a ripoff. I am a NISMO nut and have just about everything NISMO makes for the Z, but couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a NISMO grounding kit. This is the one I got:

I got the six wire kit for $60. Very high quality, easy to install.
Here are some pics of the red one installed in my ZR

I guess my question should have been: Is the design sound and is it still superior to the stock grounding?
The design involves a hub [wheel] that is attached to the negative battery post, with all grounding wires spoked out from that central hub.
I bought one that was supposedly designed specifically for the 350Z [and G35] and has an official looking Nismo decal [not like the phony looking one in the eBay picture], but I'm reconsidering whether I really want to install it. Just seems if somehow the hub got disconnected, it might blow out the entire electrical system, but I'm not a mechanic.

if you bought that e-bay rip-off kit your car would not blow up. however, it is a no-name kit and you might have fitment issues. i suggest you buy one of the other few kits offered here.
I feel grounding kits are a waste of money, here is why.
I bought one because during my morning commute, at the same intersection during the red light my car will be idling and then I will get an annoying RPM fluctuation, while idling at the light.
I thought the grounding kit would cure this...it didnt...
I think most people feel the grounding kit works because when you first start your car it will always idle higher until it warms up...aka you think it feels smoother...
Wishfull thinking + Placebo Effect + Cold engine = higher idle (smooth)...
Once the car is warmed up and you stop at a light or something, you probably will not notice anything smoother.
Just my experience with them...but..they look cool.

Anyone who buys this thinking its going to make the engine smooth or its going to cure certain things is buying it for the wrong reason for sure.
The main reason to have it is for looks. Im more than sure it does help do certain things but I think people expect it to do alot more than it really does or is supposed to even do.
