Thought I had the same problem a while back, but I started to go slow and it managed to get the tank full. Usually I have to do it now. At half a tank, I have to fight it 3 out of 4 times.

i pumped 14 gallons in my tank at $3.25/gallon today without a single problem filling it up just to make sure everything was OK. A Chevron nozzle kept cutting off on me last week and it was at less than a quarter tank. i only managed to put in three gallons. So it all depends on which gas station i guess.

I had this problem, brought it to the dealer found out it was a Air Valve of some sort in the Gas Tank that needed to be replaced. I finally was able to fill up my tank. Buy Dam 60 Bucks to filler up.

It happened to me once, but I then got it to work again and be able to filled up the entire tank. I guess I will take it to dealership if that problem come up again.

arghhhh i guess this still happens on 07's too! I was filling up at a shell station and put in twenty bucks. Stuck in the pump and began filling...10 seconds later i hear a click. Tried pumping some more but it just kept stopping.

edit: so i talked to my cousin who drives a prius and an E55 Amg. He says it happens to him sometimes too. Maybe its not just us?

Someone wise once said:

I have to agree.

Well I had another problem with my gas tank. The tank read half a tank, for 2 days straight. Thought there was something wrong with that. Then it was clear when the car shut off on the highway. I ran out of gas and the car still read a half a tank. Back to the dealer I go! Think they broke something when they replaced the air bypass something.
