Default Anyone have trouble filling up?

Seems like i can't get more than half a tank in before the pumps stop. Even pumping slow, i can't get gas in. Have to stop at half a tank.

Anyone have this problem?

try to test it again next time. If still the same, stop by your dealer for check up.

Try not to push the nozzle all the way in.

I had the same problem till my girl told me, "don't force it in, just slide it in." No joke, we both laughed after she made that comment but i've never had the problem again. Try not forcing it in all the way.

Done that, still same result. I've tried limping in and trickeling, no good.

Dealer can't do anything. Go to a different gas station or a different pump. I guarantee you can get it to work, you just gotta make sure the ANGLE you have the nozzle going in isn't shooting gas at the side causing it to go back up the nozzle and shut off the fuel.

You need to spend more time on probing... you can't just jam it in any hole you want. and expect it to take it.

+1 I had the same problem for a while. It happens every so often but not too much. Don't get frustrated. Just take the nozzle out and try again. Easiest way.

There is a solution to this problem, I had the same problem and I made the dealer to a pressure test which revealed a failed fuel-check valve.

They ended up replacing the whole tank.

I get that too sometimes. Then I play around with the nozzle and it goes away.

lol hahaha. Sure man if your serious about copying that quote for your sig. go ahead.

But on a real note, that problem was caused by a, 'failed fuel check valve' ? Is there any way you can check if your has gone bad?

Its a goofy random problem. If its severe i'd get it looked at but i've noticed with my Z I'll use a pump and fight it. I cancel and go to another right next to it and have no problem. I'm not sure if its the pump or what but trying different pumps works for me. I thought the first time i experienced it. It would happen all the time but it really is sparatic for me anyway.

I am not sure if it is that easy to check it yourself. When they did a test on mine, they put pressure on the system and told me that the valve was supposed to move but did not. That's as much as I know.

I read in another post about trying to find a pump that is on a level surface. I realized I was filling up at a station where one of the pumps was on the side of a slight grade. I have been filling up at the same station but using a more level pumping area and have not had problems since. I always get about 17 gallons in. Before I could only get 10 gallons in when reading just below a quarter tank. I can pump as fast as the hose spits it out.

Our Z's apparently have a slightly restrictive tube. The problem seems to occur with overly sensitive nozzles.

Last time it happened, went to the station accross the street...no problem.

put it this way: pump half tank. Less weight on the car.

I actually drive my car very little since getting it last January so I've only filled-up a few times...I've had this problem sometimes and sometimes not. It's a bit irritating.

For now, I'm not going to worry about it but I may be a bit more pro-active if it seems to happen more often than not or if there seems to really be somthing "wrong" with the tank, etc.

I have noticed that the lower I run the tank the more likely it seems to be that I'll have a problem filling up.

One thing's for sure...if I ever plan to rob a bank (or run from the law), I'll want to make surre my tank is filled-up BEFORE hand!
