Hello i just got a 04 pearl white 350z performance model it was a carry over i love everything about this car and enjoy it very much. I have a few questions how does this car handle abuse ( i dont plan on it but just asking) how often does everyone take theres to red line and do you think it would hurt anything if i took mine up to red line now i have 1300 miles i had the oil changed at 1000 and i have babied the entire time do you think it is broken in enough to run it?

btw here are some pix

I believe the owner's manual says not to exceed 4000 - 4500 rpm until 1200 or 1500 miles. Depending on which one it is, you may be there or you may have a leisurely road trip to take before you want to hammer it.

Read your manual. Call your dealer. Then do the right thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the ECM captured data the dealer can read to determine if you have exceeded certain parameters during break-in...of course, I may be acting a bit paranoid here...LOLOL

If you have been following break-in procedure dutifully, I would say step it up in increments, 5000 rpm max for 1 day, then up to 6000 rpm max by the 2nd day, then redline 3rd day and beyond.

I don't believe I've ever read anything about what to do after break-in, but it couldn't hurt to take it up slowly.

I doubt you'll have any issues if you just redline it, but the above may help seat the rings a little bit better before you max it out.
