Default How much do our younger members pay for insurance?

OK, well...I want to buy a 350Z...well ok, I AM buying one. The thing is..I'm 19, have no speeding tickets but one VERY MINOR accident on my record over a year ago. Accident was only $300 in damage so no biggy. Anyways..I'm looking at buying an 03 6spd. I was just curios if you guys could give me a roundabout figure on what you pay for insurance. I will be under my parents plan who are 15 year members of Nationwide if that makes a difference.

A friend of mine who is 19 has a 485hp supercharged Z and he pays $68 a month....with fleet insurance. He has 7 cars on his policy, so I couldn't get an accurate assessment of what insurance might cost.

I can tell you this you will not pay $68, try adding about $200-300 to that a month and thats you being on your parents policy!

Depends on your insurance coverage and what your parents drive, and if you are listed as a secondary driver on thier cars. I have a 1Mil Blanket policy with a 1000 deductable on my Z, and with my mom's SL500, dads F250, and the extra RX300, mine is about 287 a month.
If you are really interested, sites like progressive.com allow you to get a fairly accurate quote based on a self reported driving record and personal information. You might want to check that out too. Hope that helps.

I am also 19 w/ a 03 350Z Track 6spd, I also have a minor accident on my record with no speeding tickets. I am not on my parents policy, however i am on my brothers policy (he is 25) and i pay around $330 a month, but that also includes my motorcycle so i would guess the 350z by itself would probably about ~ $230. I have state farm w/ good student discount and my family has had their insurance for about 23 years.

jesus christ, if its 300+/- a month theres no way I could afford one. Well, I could easily...but then I'd be paying more than id be paying for my car. I calculated that after the downpayment I want to put down on a Z that costs 23k, it will be $188.00 a month.

Edit: and paying 300/month would just be plain stupid.

Damn, those are some nice cars in your fleet.

I am listed as secondary drivers on my parents car. My dad an 01 Dakota Quad Cab, and my moms 04 Volvo S40 Turbo. I also have my motorcycle on the policy listed in my name soley. I just can't imagine paying more insurance than what I pay for my car a month. GRRRRRR

300 may seem stupid to you, but I am assured that if some dumbass with a civic hits my Z, and only has 10/20/10 coverage (as is required in OK) that my Z is paid for (assuming that the damage is totaled over 10K). Not to mention if I make a mistake and do damage, its covered, unlike many people who have liability only, which coveres the other cars damage, and not your own, as well as coverage from lawsuits due to medical bills totalling more than 20K etc. Just some food for thought.

Thanks for the complement BTW.

I was quoted 319 a month for a Z, I'm 20 years old. Only would have that as my car, one minor wreck, just a bumper on my record.

Before I moved, I was paying $780/yr.... so I guess $65/mo... new location is now an extra $290/yr so closing back in on $100/mo -- but still not bad.

I'm 31.

Maaan...I remember those days . By the time I was 20 I had 3 acccidents only 1 was my fault, $2,300 in damages at 16 the same week I had my license. Racing a friend with no driving exp...bad idea I learned the hard way. 3 speeding tickets 2 running redlight cameras, and 1 speed contest. Needless to say my insurance was FANTASTIC!, I even had Farmers . But now I'm 25 and been clean for over 5 years. I pay $280 every 3 months, still with Farmers . So my advice to the younger Z owners is have fun now, but clean up when you turn 20-21 if you wanna save some money in the future. Good luck all.

I'm 26 and I'm paying about $340 per 6 mo for full cov and HI is not a cheap state as far as auto ins. Of course it helps that I've worked in ins and I have a spotless record.

im 21 and I pay something like 2k every half a year or 300 ish a month under my dad. This is because my record sucks
My brother has a g35 which he pays 600ish every half a year or 100 per month. G35 insurance might be a step down though since its a coupe with a backseat.
