hey 350z owners waz up?
one of my friends is thinkin seriously to buy either 350z track model (we only have track in SA) or getting the new corvette C6, of course when we talk about power,torqu........etc the C6 will take the lead, but what i'm trying to know here is about the impression you get while driving, stability, traction,handling, shifting (the C6 owners complain about that they describe the shifter as a truck shifter), tuning also i believe the Z is much better in tuning


bottom of the line which is better and more enjoyable to drive 350Z or C6?

Hehe bias or not I LOVE the Z. It handles great, really stable at top speeds, and still pretty hefty on the low end as well. Looks wise it's tough call. As far as modding...I wouldn't say it's that friendly. IMO as far as mods go, FI is the only way to see a real change in performance. I dunno what it is about this car but even though I've had mine for 3 months now, I still get really excited everytime I hop behind the wheel. Good luck I'm sure he'll enjoy either car.

c6 = total package, love it.
I`m not a big vette-fan, but they did a nice job on the c6

 

I think i can help out here....

I owned two Vettes in the last 2 years,a C5 and a C6,silver with Z51 package(so hard to find the Z51)

I mean look,it is like comparing apple to oranges.

50K$

Needless to say,my Vette was a killer,the keyless go,no door handles inside or out side,amazing handling,loads of torque,and not to mention that i have not heard any squeeks,or rattles in the car,it is fast as F***

If the money is not a factor i would definately go with the C6!
With a few Bolt ons,you will be having a hell of a car.

The first night i got it,i raced a 360 spider and emberassed the s*** out of him!

I say C6!
And i know that i have officially started a Flame war now with my statement,but you know what,i just think that the C6 is a better car(if money is not a factor of course!!!)

 

how about the shifting every body complains about it (no way it's like the Z)

and i'm not asking about the power or torqu here, we all know that no way in a hell the Z can keep up with the C6.

 

Let me tell you!
The corvettes shifter is much,much more precise than the Z!!
I had my shifter allready got stuck 3 times since i got my Z!

With the Vette it is much smoother and more precise!

Well the Z was one of the Cars on my List,so i had to have it,i love the rear end on the Z,next to the 911 it is one of the most beautifull designed cars from the rear!(and i dont mean this sexually)i love the Z,i used to own a 1990 TT,the Z is an excellent car for someone who does not really care about the who's driving what"factor" the Z is an excellent car with excellent performance(very close to a 996!)and all that for 26k$!>?Of course you will see many of them on the street just because of that,but then again,when you live in a city Like L.A. you see at least 5 ferrarris a day too!and a million freakin mercedeses and Bmw's!
The Corvette as well is a Boys dream as the Original TV Comercial for the new C6 showed(it was banned from the TV)It is a "Bigger *****,more hair on the head,more Ego car here in the States,that's exactly why the average buying age of a Corvette owner is 40+

I will most definately get a Corvette again!But not a C6 again!not even the C6 zo6,i would only get a C5 ZO6!which the coolest lookin,scary fast car,that you can buy and afford it at the same time.

as far as why i got rid of my Vette.

you are comparing apples to oranges!I did not get the Z because i neccessarily found something in the Z that the Vette did not provide me with!
As a matter of fact i have said before that the Vette is the Better car!so how can you ask me what better things i found in the Z,that i did not find in the vette?
I got the Z because i allways wanted a Z!that's it,plain and simple!
You're not even buying either of the cars,so i can not even explain this to you the right way looks like it.

How can a 6 Cylinder respond better than a 8 with factory 400 HP and a 6.0L engine?

With a few Bolt on's and a Head and Cam package and you are in low 11's 1/4 mile with the Vette!
Ever seen a SuperCharged C5 or C6 on the Track!? can you say a 10 sec. every day daily driver....

Our Z is great,no it is Excellent,and it's got the looks,and power,but c'mon just stop comparing it to the Vette!

The Vette is been around since the freakin 1950's,i think they must be doing something right!

Look at the new C6,you can buy one for as low as 44k$ and you will keep up with the new 997' S,Ferrarri 360's,Lambo Gallardo's,and many other Exotics that cost 2,3,0r even 4 times as much!
You still wanna ask which car to go for?But then again It's what you like,and not somebody else.

There is really no comparison here. The cars are in different classes. All the comparisons re: engine size, hp, etc...are not true comparisons, rather, they are just listings of specifications. You've got to make a decision based on:

1. Does the car appeal to me aesthetically?
2. How much HP do I want?
3. How much money to I want to spend?
4. How does it feel to sit in and drive the car?
5. What is the reliability record of the vehicle? (Technical Service Bulletins, known problems, recalls, quality ratings, etc...)

The cars are not comparable or in the same class, IMO. Tell your friend to go with whatever meets their personal criteria. Of course, if they don't care about what it looks like or how it drives, they can always buy a mini-van. <G>
