Default 3 month old 350Z was totaled :(...and another puzzling problem

I bought an 05 Orange 6-speed 350Z 3 months ago, and 2 days ago it was just totaled. I had to swerve from being t-boned from a person who was running the red light...I swerved, fish tailed, lost control, did 360's and went off the road into the ditch and my car is officially ****ed

But what I dont get is...Ive made incredibly sharp turns after way faster speeds and the thing handles perfectly...this time i was going at 30 MPH or a lil slower and lose total control of the car.

Also...this car is quite weird, I've been looking on these boards and they say the Z tops out at 159, yet I have hit 170 on an interstate, with a friend in my car,....so whats up?

I have done no performance mods to the car. The only thing that was done was the Pioneer AVIC-N1 DVD/TV/GPS System, also XM Radio, Custom built sound equipment, and underbody leds

Not all roads are consistent, you'll get traction difference on all types of roads. Another possible reason is a small amount of dirt patches dusting up the road.

No pics/video, no proof! I am assuming your speedo said 170? How long did it take you and your passenger!

How old are you, BTW?

Did the speedo actually say 170? When you say not too long, how long, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, ect

They have a DB TT at Hays. The sales manager is the father of one of my coworkers. I'm up there all the time. If you hit 170, I think Nissan would be very interested in finding out how you did it.

This is kinda off-topic but I didnt knew that they made an "Orange" Lemans Z color for the '05's. I might be wrong.
