Default How do you reset the ECU?

I'm putting my stock cats back on I was told I might need to reset the ECU.
How do you do this?

The easy way is to disconnect the battery for 24 hours. The quick but hard way is to try the reset procedure:

I don't believe it matters. If I remember correctly, the negative has less stuff on it than the pos side.

What is the advantage of reseting your ECU? Only thing I heard is to make the rev limiter a little higher to 7400 rpm...

Is there any other advatages?

you're suppose to disconnect the negative side first before you touch the positive side. When resetting the ECU...just disconnect the negative. Have it sit there for 10-15mins. I really doubt that you have to leave it disconnected for 24hrs.

You're thinking of "reflashing the ECU" like Technosquare or AAM does. That is a reprogramming of the settings. Reseting the ECU is like a reboot. It returns the ECU to some default state.
