Default Ticking/clicking sounds from rear right

Hi guys,

I bought a 350z in Feb, now 8,000 miles. The last month or so, I'm hearing a ticking/clicking sound from the rear-right, at first it was just when i went from dead stop, now it's more often, even shifting into higher gears, always just when the car is accelerating.

Anyone else have this? Is there a TSB for this? Where can you get the TSBs from? If it does have a TSB, I'd want to bring the car and TSB with me to the dealer to get it fixed quickly.

Thx,

-- Pete

You know, I had the same EXACT problem at about the same mileage. Then I hydroplaned and crashed my car at about 10,000 mi, and I haven't had the problem since. I'm not trying to scare you, it's just that the problem seemed to resolve itself. I forgot all about that until I read your post. The hydroplaning was just a coincidence. I have 14,000 mi now.

yes, bring to your dealer. There is TSB for it. Seem like after passing 8K, the problem will surface.

Mine does the same thing. I have 20k miles. I only hear it when pulling out of my garage at a dead stand still. It sounds like something is inside the rim and falling as the wheel turns. It isn't the APS either. Had that checked already.

It's axle ticking! Make those dealers fix it.

My 03 makes a clicking noise at really low speeds from the front when I turn the wheels. Like when parking or backing out of a parking space. Sounds like low steering fluid or something to me. I took it to Nissan and they said they couldn't replicate the noise! Anyone else had this problem?

Guess I need to turn down my stereo and see if I notice a tick.

Guys,

This might be something else, but the gas tank makes a lot of noise. The gasoline movement is very loud.

Anybody notice this?

Tony

I seem to get a click whenever I let out the clutch and hit the gas in 1st and 2nd. Could that be the same thing?

That is when mine seems to be making the noise also, I think I am going to call my dealer and have them take a look at it.

Mine had the same problem! It happened when I first got the car. Took them a week to figure out what it was. It only happened when I made a turn, for example at an inner section. They had to put some type of sensor on the suspension itself. Then they drove around in my car and the sensor monitored unusual vibrations within the suspension. They pinpointed the trouble and fixed it. Unfortunately I never asked them what the problem was.

No, that is something different. I get the same clutch noise too. It sounds like someone dropping a heavy metal plate onto another, huh? Man, now that I think about it my car has alot of unusual noises. Time to take it in. I also hear the squeaking noise when I push in on the clutch pedal. Sounds like wet shoes squeaking on a floor. Anyone know what that is?

Mine sounds sort of clunky when I'm turning into a parking place and the sounds are directly proportional to when I'm turning the wheel. I don't know but I hope they can figure it out. Later,
Fletch

They did the rear axle TSB on my car and it fixed it. No clicking noise any more.

Have the dealer check to see if your left and right front upper link bolts are torqued to specification. They've been know to cause a clunk if they aren't speced right.
