Question Mobil 1 Oil Filter for an '05 M1-105 or M1-108

I have been researching changing my own oil... lots of reading... but I saw one post that said to use Mobil 1 #M1-105 and another that said #M1-108. Which one is correct for an '05??

I am going to bulk order filters.

Please advise

Is there any difference in filters? I've always run just the OEM Nissan filter. What would running a Mobil 1 do?

Both will fit. The M1-108 is smaller and is about the size of the stock filter. The M1-105 is MUCH larger but will also fit (the gasket seating is the same size).

I use the M1-105 personnally (got a bunch of them) but have used the stock and M1-108 as well.

Default M1-105

I changed the oil filter with M1-105 and when I purchased it, it looked way too big but I was wrong. The filter fit perfectly with no clearance issue whatsoever. I don't remember how big the 110 and 108 filters were. You can go to Wal mart, pep boys, or autozone and compare sizes to the 105 to see what you like.

I use the M110. It's like the 105 but longer. May as well use the bigger filter

M1-105 is a close fit on a bracket above the filter but it will go on with no problems.
