Regrets - Spending more on mods than I spent on the car itself! With brakes, wheels, cams, APS TT kit, HKS F-Con engine management, HKS Blow off, HKS Boost controller, APS 3" exhaust, gauges, Methanol Injection system, APS 3.5" test pipes, APS Tall Boy Plenum, APS Tough Boy strut bar...i've easily spent more on mods than i have spent on purchasing the car. And there is no end to it....

The SOUND of those mods alone is worth the price!

HPS pads. not enough bite for my tastes

although i just installed it,
stoptech stage 2 - axis ultimates, slotted rotors, ss lines- feels fantastic
I have brembos as well. How is the bite compared to the stock pads, what pads other than Axxis would you recommend, I know I wont like HPS. I dont care about dust.

I plan on SC. The HKS kit to be more spefic. I like the useable powerband on the kit. IT might not be the highest HP kit or fastest (ST vs. TT vs. SC.). For my use its perfect. For more info on all this check out: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/167915-what-is-n-a-and-f-i.html <~Great info there.

PIAA Super LED Wedge Blue/White, since you see a 'blue dot'.
Just go with the PIAA Super LED Wedge (white/white) 19263 instead.

I respect your opinion, but I will have to disagree with you on this one. I have the Blue/White and It makes a noticable Tint to the entire array compared to having all white or a standard bulb. It also tints the entire headlight blue/white when the park lights only are on. It is less Noticable than an all Blue so you dont have as great a risk of being cited by the cops either. I am very happy with mine.

As for myself, I don't trust any mechanic/installer. If you don't know them, you can't trust them because to them, it's just another car. Hard working honest people are hard to find these days. As for me, I am going to learn how to install stuff myself. That way, you not only save money, but you know you've done a good job.

Same with washing your car. Most places will miss a spot here or there. Only by doing it yourself do you get all nooks and crannys. Plus you get to spend some time with your beautiful car in the sun!

LOL witty...

Hopefully I'll never mod to the point where I might need a tow truck to move it.

after pretty much modding all the bolt-ons and flash tuned, i pretty much regret everything. Now i realize i should've just kept EVERYTHING stock and just added a turbo and nothing else. Straight up out of the box and thats it. just with that you'd be at ~350WHP. Sigh...the agony of modding...

...I did that with my other car! It's never a turbo/supercharger and thats it! It starts there. You move on to a better blow off valve, better boost controller, better turbo timer, a fuel management system...its a never ending process.

Thats why you need to work backwards on your build. STOP and THINK about where you want your car to be. Those are the 2 least words used in modding when people are wrapped up in modding.

You say Hey 2 years from now I wanna be at XXXWHP. So you look at what you need to get there. List out the parts that you will need to get there and break it up into phases. Preperation for power adder, Support of power adder, and Making the power adder safe and reliable, More power.

So if you do this you identify what you need right off the bat. Buy the best stuff so you wont waste money buying duplicate items. Dont get ahead of your self, if you are not ready to add 600whp on stock motor DONT DO IT. Build the engine first. That type of thing.

Just my .02. And the $18K I have in the car.

I think you're right punish_her.

I just got my 06 Z and have about $6000 to start modding. I love the car and think it's pretty great stock, but I know I'll want more. I'm thinking about going with a Turbonetics or Greddy turbo setup. Either this or wheels/tires, LSD, motordyne MREV, and a pop charger. This decision is driving me crazy.
