I read a story recently from an "oil expert" that said there is a glut of oil available on the market. The issue is that we haven't built new refineries in the US in 20 years. Some are getting too old to keep up and others are being shut down. Add to that the accidents that have happened at some and it get's worse.

He said that by 2007, we should expect to see oil back under $40/barrel and maybe even under $30/barrel. By then, our new refineries will be online and there will be more fuel available than can be used. Here's a link to a different story, but same information:

Being a superpower means nothing - the UN and the rest of the world won't tolerate us bullying other countries for cheaper oil, especially when we're already so well off.

Face it, OPEC can do whatever they want, and there's no amount of complaining that can change that.

Be happy you live in the USA, if you're tired of paying so much for gas, ride the bus.

Everyone one of them with the top down. I now have 9500 miles on it after the trip. But hey I bought it to drive. Only get limited time in it here in MN. Better than looking at it in the garage.

Not really looking to win trophies. I just think it would be fun to have your pride n' joy out on display for everyone to see your hard work........................................................ .................................Man, I'd lose my mind if it weren't for this forum. The last 2 hrs. of my day are sooooooo slow. I do nothing but sit here and stare at my PC.

Per 93 oct gallon in Hawaii
lowest price:$2.51 (at Costco)
highest price: $3.05

I think hawaii still has the highest cost per gallon average and I don't see it going down anytime soon...at least we live on an island right? its not like you can drive all that far

I'm always around $40 when I fill up in the SF Bay Area...

...at least some of you out there get 93 or 94 octane on premium! We only get 91 for $2.80+ per gallon.
