Dunno why, but Nissan increased the European fuel tank volume to 21 gallons from your standard 16 - crazy given the US is huge compared to our little old patch of the world.... but none-the-less, consider:

$132 for a full Zed tank! Still at least it's Shell Optimax @ 98 RON!

Unfortunately our Zeds only make 279bhp on 98 RON due to our doo-lally EURO IV emission regs.... boo, boo I say ! Still, we get a range of about 450 miles, but this depends on how brave you are as we still have a 16 gallon tank empty sensor !!! Doooh !!!

NB: Zed = Zee ! Doooh!!! Variety is the spice of live, so they say....

The US Z standard fuel tank size is 20 gal as per Nissans website.

Damn! $132.00. That is ridiculous. I'd trade in the Z if I had to dish out that much. By the way, what does 98 RON mean? Is that the same thing as 98 octane?

RON is an abbreviation of Research Octane Number, which is what we use in the U.K. .... there is also a M.O.N..... Motor Octane Number... but i'm no chemist:

http://www.refiningonline.com/EngelhardKB/crep/TCR4_29.htm

Btw, sorry about the tank capacity.... yes the US is 20 gal, we are 21 gal ... but our dte zero comes on after 16 gal (60 litres).... Say, did you know there are different standards of gallons ??? In the U.K. we use a so-called "Imperial" gallon which is 4.54 litres, whereas your " U.S" gallon is 3.78 litres.... each to their own I say....

P.S.: Sorry 4 the slow reply, been watching BB6 in the U.K.... doooh!

Holy crap dude! That's CRAAZZZZY!
In Toronto we pay anywhere from $.90 to $1.10 per liter for Sunoco Ultra 94. A full tank is usally between $55 to $65 Canadian. I don't feel so bad now.

I paid $2.87 for 91 octane. I don't really let it bother me that much because if you look at it this way its not that bad.....

I just wrote the same thing into another thread:
"I don't know how much gas in the states costs, but here in Germany we pay 1.46 Euro per liter for Super Plus which is 98 octane and has to be put in the Z (still not the highest, you can gas up your Z even with that V-Power Stuff, 100 octane).
If you convert it into gallons and dollars you have to pay like $7.09 per gallon.
Now that's some crazy ****."

So you can feel very very happy about the gas prices in the US.
