Default Need a new windshield

So my car is a month old as of yesterday and i got a rock chip last weekend . I had it "repaired" the next day and now less then a week later it is spreading. So i call the glass shop and they say they wont refund me my money but will offer me 70 bucks (20 more then i paid for the repaid) off of the install. This will work out to 247 OTD for OEM glass. Does this sound like a good deal? Also should i opt for the genuinne Nissan glass? The dealer said the glass is made by the same company who makes the genuine stuff? Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

Is the $247 including the $70 off? Or is that before the $70 off?

The real solution is $0 deductable comprehensive. Through State Farm it is $16/6 months to change from $250 to $0. Cracked windshields due to rocks, etc.. = $0

My deductable is 1000, but thats because i have GAP insurance which will pay for the deductable. But it isnt worth it even if i didnt have a deductable because insurance will go up and will end up paying more then 250 in the long run.

Yes, the 250 is out the door after the 70 bucks off.

I have to admit, I am not to impressed by the windshield compared to my last car. My Civic Si took all kinds of crap on the windshield, and you would just have to scrap it off including nicks. Like the windshield is made of fibers that break away.

But the Z gets hit and it will leave a mark that just doesn't scrap off

I wouldn't get OEM Glass, get PPG glass. Its thicker and stronger then OEM. I paid 225 in Northern CA installed.

+1

OEM glass from my experience is much weaker. I got the PPG on mine now and have gotten strong, loud hits from rocks..maybe 3-4...but NO chips. Granted my heart beats faster everytime as I look around for chips, but can't find it. It did however leave a needle size nick. Barely even notice it though.
