Question "ticking" sound from rear-hatch???

Guys,
I have been hearing this low ticking sound from the rear hatch. You cannot hear it when the music is on (obviously) nor when the car is not moving! Lemme see if I can describe it better: kinda sound like your home windows when an airplane flies over your home...ya know, that "buzzing/ticking" sound, kinda like the glass is shaking or something. I hear it the most when going over bumps (small or large) and just driving. It is really bothering me and i dont want to have the guys at the dealership taking anything apart yet! Please help...

i am too recently getting a window vibration sound from the back of my car when i go over bumps, some times it happens, some times it doesnt, put about 1.4k miles on teh car before it started to happen.

some times i hear it, soem times i dont, im not really sure why. i think it has to do with heat and plastic expansion or something. thats only way i can explain i dont hear it 100% of the time, only few trips i hear it, some times no matter what i do, i cant get it to happen.

I've heard something similar...though mine sounds more like a knock than anything else. When I do hear it, it sounds like it's coming from directly behind the driver's seat....almost like something is rolling around in the back and bumping into something. Though it's not that because I don't generally carry things in the back.

You have to take it to the dealer for repair...

I took mine last week and waiting on a "special order part" for repair. Dealer mentioned something about a national-wide back order one of 5 parts that is causing the issue. The noise drives me crazy everytime I drive my Z...

I got an 05 with the exact same problem and I am certain that it is not an issue with the axle. It sounds more like a screw is rolling around in the interior. Came from the factory with this problem. Taking it to the dealership tonight to figure it out.

Post up what they say...because I'd like to know if this is something I ought to get checked out.

Finally brought my car in for an oil change and to fix the rattle. So 2 seconds after the dealer telling me its all set, I'm driving off the lot and hear the same noise. Decided to take matters into my own hands. Picked up a screw driver and a ratchet set and went to town. Found a loose screw rolling around directly behind the drivers side rear speaker. Took about 1.5 hours but eventually got it out. It was a brand new screw that was likely dropped during assembly. Let me know if you need anymore details.
