The August Car and Driver Issue Scans

Alright, as many of you know, Nissan has a press embargo in place that states the media, including this site, cannot release information earlier than July 3rd.
While I understand Car and Driver's subscribers are seeing stuff earlier than that, we are not in that group and as such, we cannot release the scanned article in it's full size until July 2nd at 9:00pm PST (12:00am EST July 3rd).
I know this sucks and I know many of you will say it's unfair and all that other stuff, but bottom line is that I gave my word to Nissan to not release future news ahead of time, and aside from that cover scan, I am keeping my word.
Now to those of you that questioned if the article is real, because many felt it might be a forged article... here is PROOF.

This is the AUGUST Car and Driver that will most likely hit store shelves roughly around July 3rd or later.
I am not posting this to tease you and yes, I KNOW you can't read this. I downsized the scans on purpose. I am not breaking the embargo, because all these prove is that there is an article and what it looks like.
I know, I hate me too. Stop swearing at me. Thanks
If you'd like to write me and tell me how much you hate me, cool. If you'd like to donate to the my350z.com fund that basically helps cover the server bills and hosting of this fine site... and basically try and bribe me, that's cool too.
I can't put the article up though.... until I am given the green light early from Nissan or July 2nd at 9:00pm PST (which equals 12:00am EST July 3rd) comes.
this DOES prove though the cover, and article, are real.
Thanks for the support, and all the great posts!

Oh yeah... I can't answer questions regarding the article, what they thought, what cars it's tested against, anything. A press embargo means no news until July 3rd. Sorry. I know it's somewhat unfair that C&D subscribers see this now... but I don't make the rules, I just *try* and follow them.

Well I guess that covers it. I was not so shocked by the numbers but by the fact that the issue was out so much sooner than I had anticipated. And the fact that only the cover was available. Wish you could have done this last night.
BTW I am guessing the test weight included the driver and thus was not the "curb weight"

Nismo warrantied products... it just makes since man.
1. You don't have to produce in mass quantity
2. You get the benefits of super high mark-up items
3. You caiter to the "I NEED MORE" crowd while not hurting your bottom line
4. Nismo inspired version of the Z will make its way to the market AFTER Nismo makes its name known in the US.
I can see a Nismo Z in 2005 maybe... I can see Nissan taking the Z and making it a Z N series
. In the mean time - enjoy the after market, enjoy your Z, and I'm telling you... this thing is going to rule.
Yes it's a bit heavy but overall it's about driving experience and the Z certainly has a unique one. I was laughing about begging for a C5 at $35k. I wouldn't want a friggin' Vette... fiberglass middle-age mobile. No thanks man. I'll take "cool" with "heritage" any day over "bland" and "middle-aged"
No pun to you over-the-hillers.

This is like making your dog sit still while you put a tastey treat on its nose and then making him wait to gobble it down. How cruel. It is possible I guess that someone else has posted these or other images of the nissan scan on some other forum or public post. Or put them in their shared KaZaA folder. I'm Certain that if you really want to see this article all it takes is a little time and effort.

He posted this about 2 1/2 hours before the article appeared on the website. Look at the time the article was scanned in and posted by Jay.

You think I'm getting my jollies off? Gee, Thanks I guess.
Tell ya what, newbie, if you don't like this site or the way it's run, or that fact that I have to follow an emabrgo placed on this site and all other media by NISSAN.... see that little X in the corner of your screen? (top right corner to be exact)
click it
I posted those sized down scans so the people thinking it was a forged C&D cover would see that it's not, and that the article is real.
Again, by all means, click that little X.

You Go BIg Jay.....finally someone pissed off the Big Kahuna..never heard you like that Jay...but with all the grief you put up with it's about time...there is only so much whineing one can stand...BTW for all the non believers..I printed a copy of the article early this morning off the C&D site before they took it down..it's real..and for those that aren't consumed by point whatever numbers...they loved it
Sorry to hear that some are dissapointed in the numbers...I for one am more ready than ever to drive my Z off the dealer's lot

Hey, any chance you could put the stuff up at 8am PST on July 2nd (since Japan is 16 hours ahead)?

I have been following this website since early April but have only posted once before. I just feel that I have to say 2 things. First, this car has met every expectation that I had. After sitting in one about 2 weeks ago, I just cant wait to get mine, it is a dream come true. Second, I want to show my support for JMANZ. He is in a very difficult situation. He has done his best to provide as much information as he can and created a great website. I salute you JMANZ.
