Default What Model Z to buy?

hey im looking to buy a 2003 350z but i am not sure which model to get, i didnt want the base model bc it doesnt have the limited slip diff or H.I.D.s but i also wanted leather. Is there a big difference in the sound of the 160watt system in the enthusist and the bose system in the touring? Which model should i get and why?

Bose isn`t too great. It`s better than stock though. I have touring and I don`t regret my decision at all.

IMO ...avoid the 2003 Z and get at least an '04....If u read the threads in this forum, you'll see a bunch of people with tire feathering (premature wear) and other stuff. Spend a little extra on the '04 to avoid sprending much more later!

I have an '05 Base....I love it, but admit that I wish I had the Traction Control and other goodies. Stock radio is JUST ok....It could be hella better..and should be for the price of the Z.

It depends on how important leather and power seats are to you. The Bose system alone isn't worth the price of the Touring trim, but maybe the leather + Bose + power seats are. If you plan to install an aftermarket stereo and don't care about leather/power seats, go for the Enthusiast.

i really want leather and i put so many aftermarket stuff into my last car, i wanted to keep the stereo stock bc im not goin through all that stuff again, so i wanted a good one. Is there a big difference wit the limited slip diff and also the traction control then if i didnt have it like on the base model? when does it really help? someone with a g35 told me he takes the traction control off everytime he gets in the car bc he doesnt like it. does that make sense?

Does you base model come with HID? I know Base shouldnt come with HID, only Enthisiast or above. But its weird that I have visited nearby dealers and they are all with HID lights. A guy drove away with a 2005 Redline 350Z base, the HID is bright like a 6000k.

The Bose will sound worse than your aftermarket system. Check the audio forum for pictures of the Bose components compared to aftermarket ones. As for the LSD and TCS benefits, you'll have to ask someone else. I've heard that many people turn the TCS off because they don't like the way it affects their driving, but you may not be one of those people. Try taking one for a test drive with TCS on and off.

I used a cassette adapter to plug my mp3 player into the Bose system. The bose system is loud but that is all it has going for it. It sound like crap in the midrange, very muddy.

this guy is trying to sell an 03 touring with 40,000 miles on it, he said its all highway milage. he also told me at his 36000 check up there was a rattle sound when the car was in neutral so they put in a new transmission. does this car have too many miles? should i stay away from it bc of the transmission? i got him down to $20,000

Does the touring automatically come with HID lights? Or do you have to request it as an option on the touring model?

That doesn't mean anything to me >_<;;

I don't which model is "up" or "down".

Is Touring below "Enthusiast" or higher then "Enthusiast"?

Update: nevermind, I went to the USA nissan site instead of the Canadian site and see that the Touring model is above the "Enthusiast".

So according to you, my 2003 Touring comes standard with HID? I bought mine used so I am not sure >_<;; I never had HID and have no idea how to tell.

Nope....Halogen Headlights...I WISH I had the HID. The lighting is somewhat weak IMO. I bought aftermarket HID bulbs and REALLY need to get them installed, cuz no way in hell I can do it myself..otherwise they'd be on right NOW!

If you're smart, you'll AVOID this car! The 2003 (First Year Z) is the most problematic. Mileage too high IMO, especially for $20K. Sounds like a Private Party Seller trying to screw you over...again, IMO.

Get a newer one..at least an '04.

It should have come with HID. Not sure about the Canadian models. I always thought the trims were the same worldwide.

At the Canadian site, you can only get:

Performance
Touring
Roadster Manual
Roadster Auto
35th Anniversary Edition Manual
35th Anniversary Edition Auto
Grand Touring Roadster

I don't know anymore My lights are difinitely not the same as my winter beater jetta, that's for sure. The 350Z has this sorta white to soft blue to them. But couldn't that just be any colour xenon lights?
