Sounds like someone in the Maxima forum has had a bit to much Hater-ade.

I should know, I used to own a maxima.
We used to call them Craxima's due to all the ghetto folk driving them when I used to work in NYC. All the drug dealers would buy them and pimp them out to attract the ghetto ******. It was pretty funny. They would spend 40k on their cars and live in a 400 square foot apartment. I'm sure I'll offend someone with that, but who cares.

Had a co-worker who drove me to lunch once with 2 other co-worker in his 2003 maxima. Even with 4 guys, the thing pulled pretty good, very nice torque. I complemented him on the car. He looked at me with this baby look and said "My wife won't let me get the 350Z, wah!"

When I got my 350Z and drove it into work, he told me I was his role model. LOL

Too bad some people always find a way to hate.

No jealously when they roughly cost the same new....., its about PREFERENCE. The Maxima clan has its enthusiast following just like the Z and it was the car that kept Nissan afloat during the rough mid 90's. There should be no hate between these cars of the same family hate on Acura's etc.

There are probably plenty of Z owners that fall into this category as well.

Dont hate on the Maxima because of the stupid comments of a few owners. Lets keep harmony in the family!

*sigh* I dunno what killed more brain cells....the beer that I'm drinking now or that asinine thread I just read. I've seen some stupid things on car forums, but never something as idiotic as a thread of Nissan owners crapping on other Nissans.

i also have a maxima and am also a member of that forum, but ever since i got my Z, all the maxima does is just sit in the garage.

But anyway... this following comment is the one i like, mostly since its from a guy with a mustang who is on a maxima forum.
I've never liked the Z. The G35 coupe is a much nicer vehicle all around.

I'm surprised the screen wasn't dripping green with all that Z envy smeared across the Maxima site.

I imagine they are all living a fantasy and making themselves feel better by bashing the Z. It's a classic example of the first defense of an insecure person - disrespect those who are better than you and disrespect that which you can't, or don't, have.

serious, whats with all the hate? I personally never really saw z owners as people who hate on other modders, just the ricers. other than that, were all enthusiasts arent we?

I find their Z bashing thread very amusing. After all, aren't the people who buy Maximas supposed to be more mature and refined?

I dunno... a 400 square foot apartment in NYC could run you $1500/mo

I agree, but I was referring to how most of them evaluated the Z as a sports car, and compared them to other sports cars in the same class.

Here's why there might be jealousy....

The Maxima is a highly practical, entry level luxury-performance sedan. It works well for someone who can only afford a single car to fill many purposes. The Z on the other hand, is a car for those who are young with no kids, responsibilities, etc. or as a "toy" for those who may be older, wealthier, and have other practical means of transporation. A Maxima owner may be jealous of what the Z represents in life....the young person's "freedom" or the older person's income.

The guy who started that thread is a ****ing hater, he didnt drive a Z if thats what he thinks about it. And throttle response? Get a popcharger, and now you have instant power if the slightly lagged airbox is too much for the maxima drivers there...Alot of haters over there, ALOT. And there we some cool people too, but ****, what a bunch of wanna be's....

They're reaching. He's just pissed because his Maxima was Nissan's best from 97-02. We'll all be making the same posts when the Skyline gets over here.
