Default What should I expect to pay for 05 Touring?

I did one of the online quotes for an 05 350Z Touring bone stock in the 23665 area. I got an email back and it said 34,000. I have read on here that i should be able to get it below 30,000.

What number should I walk into a dealership and not agree to go above??
How long should I hold out to use the end of year, new 06 is coming out approach?

Thanks for the help.

Got mine a week ago for 31500. Sticker was 36k. That was with the aero package, convenience package, and some other small upgrades. No navigation.

Did you have to bargain down to that? Or was the dealer offering that?

I did bargain down, it was a "manager's special". Apparently it had been sitting on the lot for over 200 days (why, I don't know). When a car sits on a dealers lot for and extended period of time, they begin to lose money. His invoice was 31,869$, and he went under that just to get rid of the car.

I went into the dealership looking for a used Z, not wanting to spend over 25k... but this just turned out to be too good a deal.

From now until the end of the year you should be able to get good deals on any new car, as dealers are trying to get rid of inventory for the new 06's coming out.

Offer 93 percent of MSRP. Stick with that number. Let me know what the salesperson says.

NO!....except if the car has a lot of added mods made by the dealer. There are a lot of brand new '05 Z cars for sale.
There are bargains galore....it's a buyers market, especially now with new '06's coming in 2 month's. A excellent price is $500.00 under INVOICE forget about the MSRP.
I bought my '04.5 ZR in May of '04 and paid $99.00 over INVOICE & Roadsters were in heavy demand at the time.

You should be able to get LESS or EQUAL to $500 over invoice. Maybe less because the 06's are coming out, which gives dealers the incentive to sell, sell, sell.

Don't bargain from MSRP, bargain from invoice.

Well i emailed a dealer back that wanted more info on what i wanted. Here is what I wrote: (kinda to the point with him)

Thank you for your timely response.I am looking for a DB 05 350Z Touring model. I have been on different forum boards dealing with 350z's and I have been told that I shouldnt be paying more than 31 for this model with the aerodynamics package and floormats. I really dont want to spend more than 30 grand once it is said and done. But If you can get me in a touring for 30,500 or less I will drive one away as soon as I get to langley. I am a military member and move to the area 8 Sept. If the deal is right i will be able to stop by the following monday after my arrival to see what you have. Thank you for your time. I hope that the price i want to spend to isnt insulting.

Additionaly I was wondering how much the coupe, enthusiast, or Performance will cost. Just in case my financial situation (MY WIFE) calls for me to spend less.

Nick Alessi

Lets see what he says. I dont think i should have added that i was interested in the other models. But I do want to know. If i can get a base dirt cheap i will do it.

Their "internet manager" will most likely give you a no-haggle price...

If the price they give you is not good enough, you can try what I did and go to www.costcoauto.com

you put in everything you want, and a dealer near you will contact you with the price.

This is how I got $500 over invoice, and I found a really nice sales manager. He'd been doing it for 18 years or something, and he was brutally honest in every way, even telling me stuff that other dealerships kept secret from me.

In my case, they had only like 2 SB tourings with the options I wanted left in Cali / Arizona (I confirmed this with 4 different sources, no one was lying to me).

One of them was sold after I started shopping.

That left one car, the ONLY car for me...

considering that, I was lucky to get it for my price.

Of course, if you want a car that they have 10 copies of, it will be cheaper.

I shopped around too, and talked to various internet manager type people, as well as a brokering service that does something similar to costco auto. $500 over invoice was the best price I was going to get, since they would've easily sold it to someone for that price if not me.
