When I had my '03 6MT G35c, I had to wipe the soot from the lower edge of my tail pipes daily. The tips of my '03 Track Z stay clean; no black stuff whatsoever. Both cars stock. Is my Z normal?

I havent seen much soot on my Z exhausts. Barely need to clean it.

Mine aren't terrible but there's definitely black inside of it.

I think my Z runs richer with the Injen exhaust. At low speeds when I floor it,Smoke comes out of the pipes for a sec. My bro tells me this when he is behind me.

Dosen't the computer keep air fuel at 14.7 to 1 except at full throttle when it's like 12?. Could it be how hard you drive it?

I wash my car every 2 weeks, and there is a good amount of soot. I'm not sure on a daily basis though...

Yeah it depends on your driving. The Z was built to be driven hard so Nissan tuned it to run rich when the gas is mashed.

my nismo exhaust stays dirty no matter what i do. Maybe i should buy a pop charger to thin it out a little bit.

I've never had a problem with soot on my 04 G coupe. Don't know about you Z guys.

I have some soot on my 03. Not too much, but it's there. I'm bone stock.

a more accurate way to tell if you are running rich/lean is to check your spark plugs....

throw some testpipes on and your tailpipes will get black after 30 miles of driving

I have a 03' wit 21K and i have a lil Soot. around the bottom of the tips...i clean it when i clean my car...but DO water ever shoot out of your guys TAILS? because i HEARD suppose some water like drops not "GALLONS" comes out of ur tails means your engine is runnin good? do you have lil water drops come out when u start??

sometimes. It depends on how much moisture is in the air. When it rains for a long time and my car is outside i can hear moisture bouncing around in my exhaust put its really light. You can only hear it if you look for it.
