Replacement RE 040's
Just returned from a 900mi trip after having recall alignment and two new replacement front tires. Noticed that new front tires are not running as hot as before (fronts running 1-2 psi lower than rear at highway speed and temp...psi front and rear used to be comparable) and a 1.0-1.5 mpg loss in fuel economy. Started trip with all four tires at 36 psi cold. Anyone having similar experience?

Is it possible that your confusing "tire pressure" and "temperature". An under inflated tire will run hot (a major cause of tire failure). A properly inflated tire will run...well...at the proper temperature.
You’d like to increase fuel mileage a bit? Run plus one or two pounds “cold.”
