The damn dealership didn't send me one with my Z, so I'm in the market, but have yet to get ahold of a replacement. I'd like to bypass the entire situation and just get a new set of wheels and runflats from Perf Nissan...
First thing that I did when I got home from the dealership is taking out the spare and jacks. Put the styrofoam back in the place to the mat level. Hope this helps.
I have a question though taking that weight off the back, wouldn't change the weight distribution. I could even be worse if you have less than a quarter of galon of gas left in the tank.
I have no spare, but it's not for weight reduction. I had my subwoofer box and amp rack built in the spare tire location to keep the car looking stock. I keep a can of fix-a-flat in the glove box for emergencies, but that would be a last resort. Around Boise, I can just call for help; the fix-a-flat is basically for long trips out of cell range.
I dont have my spare in either...but not for weight reduction. It's more for my amps and sub rack in the back. I could still put the spare in, but I dont wanna add more weight to the already-heavy system I have there.
Wow I'm surprised so many people roll around without spares. So if you get a flat tire you're either leaving your car on the side of the road unattended or having it towed? *boggles*

Yep. I have decided that I am willing to spend a couple hours to use my USAA roadside assistance and get my car towed home where I will promptly switch to my racing rubber. When you have 14" Stoptechs sacrifices have to be made and I'm not carry around a full size spare.
