Question best rpm range to shift for new Z?

hey i just bought a new 05 enthusiast and i was wondering what is the best rpm range to shift because ppl have been telling me that u cant go too high for new cars

You are not supposed to rev it over 4000 rpm for the first 1200 miles (I'm at 1176 on mine and my lead foot is twitching with anticipation)

I could only imagine...lol...i'd do circles in a parking lot in order to get those miles in! haha

anyone ever bought a brand new M3? the computer limits how high you can rev for the first 1500 miles....it slowly lets you rev higher and higher as you collect miles...and at around 1500miles, you have to take it back to the dealership so they can get the limiter off....

90% of time...I dont take it over 2500-3000 rpms. Saves fuel and reduces chances of something breaking..but occassionally, I rip through the gears with a grin carved on my face.

2005 350Z owners manual (break-in 1200 miles)
Avoid driving for long periods at constant speed, either fast or slow. Do not run the engine over 4,000 rpm.

Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.

Yeah, I looked all over in my manuals for the break in period, but it never said any.

BREAK-IN SCHEDULE

CAUTION
During the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km),
follow these recommendations to obtain
maximum engine performance and
ensure the future reliability and
economy of your new vehicle. Failure to
follow these recommendations may result
in shortened engine life and reduced
engine performance.
 Avoid driving for long periods at constant
speed, either fast or slow. Do not run the
engine over 4,000 rpm.
 Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
 Avoid quick starts.
 Avoid hard braking as much as possible.
 Do not tow a trailer for the first 500 miles
(800km).

One question for you guys:
When buying a Z, and it has ~ 20 miles on it..you *know* someone took it for a test drive. Also, Nissan dealers don't give a ****, and anyone who test drives the Z will floor the hell out of it on the test drive.
So if i want to buy one...there's no way of telling if it has been abused and i'm SOL unless i just buy a freshly delivered one right?

Man...that's why i like subaru around my area..they *will not* let you pass 4K RPM...i kinda wish others were like that too...or, get a Demo car and let ppl test drive it, not a car that someone will later end up buying.

So any tips?
I'm looking into one soon, dunno if i'll wait for the '06...

I get very smooth shifting at 2500 to 3000 rpm. I now frequently shift 1-3-5 for ease of shifting. That's what I love about the Z - get to shift - dont understand why people want an automatic. Approaching an off ram on a freeway I will start slowing from 6o 0r 65 in advance, then at about 50 I will put it into 5th . Anyone following usually starts bacing of - because they havent seen any brake lights! Again I pull it down into 4th without braking before hitting the red light ahead.
