The entire profile looks plain wrong that way, just as you pointed out.
I will be ordering the car in Jan and hope a new kit will be released by then. If you don't mind my asking: How much did it cost you to have the Nismo kit painted and installed?

as far as my kit, i got it last month
i got the deal of a lifetime
i bought the entire genuine JDM aero kit (with all paper work and serial #'s) from a member on here already painted chrome silver and in good condition
for$ 1450 shipped to my door

so i ended up paying my bodyshop $100 to drill the holes for the rear under spoilers and swaping out the bumper and skirts
bodyshop prices vary but your probably looking at near $1200-1500 for paint and install so maybe roughly as a ballpark figure near $3K out the door

That's a helluva deal on the painted kit! I am just glad I found all this out a few months in advance of ordering, so I can figure things out. I sure won't want to spend $3k (price + paint/install) on a body kit unless it has more than just "lips" for the front and rear, notwithstanding the spoiler, of course.
Information can be such a pain in the a$$ sometimes!
I will first play my cards and order it through the same rep who fed me misinformation as he will have to honor it when I go to take delivery. If he's wisened up come January, I will use the logic I mentioned earlier, although that isn't likely to work on the body kit's labor cost.

Jason,
How did you guys get 2006 Zs so soon.
I contacted Nissan dealers in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. They all told me lead time is that 30-60 day. Plus they can't give me an exact pricing because they can't get the VIN#.

Catback, the dealership not being able to give you exact pricing might be BS depending on when you spoke to them. MSRP and invoice pricing was released last mid- last week, so if you talked to them before that, you might want to give it another shot.

I do not know for sure if NISMO is going to release a new body kit within the states... Most likely they will... but for those of you who were around in 2003-2004.. It took for EVER for them to get the urethane front lip, side skirts, rear under, wing released in the states...
We were told in Aug, 2003 that the NISMO body parts were going to be released... One year later Aug 2004 the NISMO kit was released, with a design change... We were expecting it to be the same as the JDM style but they changed it... So it is really hard to say what will happen...

EVERY Nissan dealership lets you order Nismo accessories and get them financed if you do so when you order the car. But you will have to pay for labor later.

Jason at Performance-
Have you compared the front suspension parts in the parts catalog? That would be one way of figuring out which parts are really different and then looking at those parts to see what is different about that part. I would look for differences in the rubber mounts as well as the geometry.
I wonder if the increase in 2006 Z weight is more sound deadening material to eliminate the tire noise issue?

the only parts different in the front suspension are the shocks, and tie rods... in the parts catalog atleast... The front upper control arms look a little different, but the parts are not different in the catalog... I havent had a chance to rip apart the front suspension on a new car yet... Trying to get them to let me...
The upper mounts are the same etc...
The alignment spec's are all the same for 06 except now the toe is set at 0 and is more adjustable with these new tie rods...

Jason, what's the story on those RAYs not being available on the Roadsters? Not even as an option. I mean they are basically going to force Roadster owners to pay out the ying yang to have to bear the cost of the original set of wheels PLUS the wheels they actually want. Would my warranty on the NISMO suspension (bars and springs) be voided just because I didn't go for the NISMO wheels? I noticed in the fine print of the NISMO web page it states that you MUST install ALL suspension parts at the same time. Do you really think that the calibration would be off by using the RAYs vs. the LMGT4s?
To anybody out their who's done this...how easy is it to ebay off the stock items you have left over once you NISMO out your car? Are any dealers interested in stocking factory components at a "cheaper" price, does performance nissan, or any other dealer that somebody know of actually gives you a hefty discount on NISMO parts if they get to keep the OEM parts that you are tossing?

Anway, Nissan did not address my wish list of factory options:
1) Sunroof
2) Lumbar seat support
3) Choice of interior colors

You will NOT void your warranty onthe car by using other parts other then NISMO etc on your car...
It is very easy to ebay off your stock items... But after selling all of my factory parts I wish I hadnt... But its easy to find them on ebay from someone else...
Most likely you will find the new rays wheels for sale on ebay... We will have some im sure as we put nismo wheels on new cars
