The white is the same no?!? I agree with the black. It is hard to tell by the pics if it is dirty or a different color flake. I remember my '85 300ZX was Midnite Blue. It was pure black with a really dark blue metallic flake. It looked great in the sunlight. Is the new black a black with a gunmetal flake? That is what it looks like.
Jason you are doing a great job answering all these questions. Thaks again.

The new black is actually a 2 stage pearl. I believe the effect is a red. That's what it looked like on my paint sample. It's pretty small though, so it's hard to tell.

Very interesting. Sure would be nice to throw $3500 wheel/tires into financing.
When purchasing at our dealer we can work mods into financing...

But notice it says INSTALLATION NOT INCLUDED! And I dont see any tire options? Are you sure they ship the car packaged with all those things or is it the dealer supplies them?

Out of all the 350Z's we ever received 2005 and up I have never seen a NISMO part placed on them off the truck...

Trust me on this one, I did it for mine.
thats what I thought...

its way more expensive that way.. buying full MSRP from the dealer...

might as well buy online from a discount dealer www.performancenissanparts.com

For those who dont know... we are a full functioning NISSAN Dealer...

to my knowledge the Pikes Peak White, Silver Stone, Daytona Blue, Lemans Sunset, Redline are all the same... all that changed has been black, inergolus fire (spelling) and silver alloy...

the black looks less metallic to me...

So you did order your Z with Nismo parts? Just making sure.

That was my confusion as well, as reflected in my preceeding posts to Jason about body kit. John Elway Nissan here in town told me unequivocally that if a car is ordered with Nismo components, it will come that way from the factory. I was confused 'coz then each component should be cheaper than what's listed as separate order prices in the catalog, as cost of OEM equipment should be deducted from it before shipping.

I am quite p!ssed now as this means I would have to buy the tires separately, plus be stuck with plenty of OEM parts which no one would want to buy (except wheels) Not to mention, pay through my teeth for labor, especially for the body kit. And my configured GT was already approaching $46k MSRP. Damn! I can just never catch a break.

Iam very disgusted by the weight gain thats evo and sti weight . theresno reason the 350z should weigh this much.
I wanted to purchase a 06 z next spring but i dont think it will happen i love NA power and with that weight ,a 11 sec 350z NA would be much harder.

note to nissan: please get your head out of your azz and stop making every car a luxo cruiser and make a fning sportscar first thankyou

interesting, in that last pic of the rays forged 19 rear, they are using the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires instead--similar wear rate, but MUCH less road noise and SERIOUSLY better dry/wet handling

I am leasing my car from Elway Nissan North. The cars come stock from Japan, and all the NISMO components are delivered separate and installed at the dealer. So you got it right: you will be stuck with used OEM parts which no one will want to buy, therefore you'll have to pay through your teeth for all the labor and the Z will go over 45K, easily.

The only question is: how much do you really want your NISMO car right away?

so when you see 2300 and 2600 wheels on there thats not including another 1k or so to buy the tires to go with them. and like you said you got 46K into a Z with an unpaited bodykit and a box of wheels sitting beside it

so it might be better to piece the nismo stuff together a little at a time like i did. my goal is to keeping adding to my nismo car while finding the best deals possible! and by the way foir 46K i assume you opted for the nismo wheels. right? when you build the Z GT, that contradicts itself, part of the price of the GT is paying for those rays wheels, so if you have an interest in nismo wheels get a lesser trim level and save a little $$

Thanks a bunch, you guys. I really needed this input. And I agree completely with both of you. This is such a sham! I was trying to convince myself that Nismo isn't all that expensive as its all good to go if ordered from the factory. Couldn't be more naive...

Yes, for my '06 GTc I opted for all Nismo components available on the NNA site, incl. the 19" wheels. I will now have to go the frugal route and build it gradually; something I did NOT want to have to do

Yeah, I'm getting the GTc just for the Brembos as that's the only trim offering both those and leather (another requirement). The "underbody" diffusers are no more than a marketing gimmic, and I HATE that rash disguised as a spoiler! But I do love the new Rays.

Now I will probably give Nismo wheels a rest, or I might get them and sell the Rays and OEM tires separately to buy tires for Nismos. Plus, I will bargain the heck outta the dealer to have the labor for my Nismo suspension, exhaust, and CAI included in their selling price; then get the whole thing financed. They will make plenty of money in finance charges over a 5-tear term, and with some skill, I am sure I can convince them of it.

But I am very disheartened nonetheless. Z will be my first brand new car (just finished grad school) and I wanted it to be nearly perfect upon leaving the dealership. Oh well...

If only those 19" nismo rims had a fat lip in the rear! I would buy them in a second!

so that might be another reason to wait.

Absolutely. That's exactly what I asked Jason about upon discovering that '06 Zs are now on NNA's site, and then finding out while configuring it, that the lip is no longer available. He said that they are expecting NNA to release a redesigned aero kit for the '06 Z. I agree. Nissan wouldn't just leave the kit as is and without the front lip. The entire profile looks plain wrong that way, just as you pointed out.

I will be ordering the car in Jan and hope a new kit will be released by then. If you don't mind my asking: How much did it cost you to have the Nismo kit painted and installed?
