Blargh I really wonder where the weight gain is coming from. I was hoping to get 2006 weight to 3000lbs. without spending $5k just for CF body panels.

[QUOTE=roberto350z]uh oh.... looks like the 350z is getting 300zx-itis. Overweight and overpriced.

Aint that the truth. Same thing with the Xterra (yes I know entirely different vehicle). It just seems that Nissan hits the mark when the first come out with a vehcile...at least market wise....then after a few years of some serious success with it, BAM, lets make it bigger, heavier, and more pricey. I say they should subscribe to the K.I.S.S. philosophy.....Keep It Simple Stupid!

Maybe we should start a thread listing driver's weights...

Who's contributing MORE to the overall weight of their vehicle now? Just kidding!

According to power to weight ratio numbers the 287hp Z with being 100lbs. lighter, will be faster in the 1/4 mile.
LOL 10WHP will take a tenth off your time huh?

Its not that much weight, the Z is still an incredibly fast car with that extra weight. I could see if the whole reason for buying the Z was to make it a track or drag car only being a problem, but then you can do weight reduction.

Yes...
10WHP will take a tenth of your 1/4 mile time. This is common knowledge (average) at the track.
The funny thing is everyone thinks an intake and exhaust gains a true 10whp...
I like how people add WHP too. lol
I 3-6 "FUNNY"
H 10-15 "MORE FUNNY"
E 5-10 "FUNNIEST"

Then they add them together???
Like I SAID before, a true 10WHP will save (ON AVERAGE) a tenth on the 1320. Especially dealing with such low HP vehicles. The higher the numbers the more off this becomes. But, with these cars and many others, it is a good way to gauge.

thats a huge amount to add to the car in one year but the other problems are which i dont see people mention is heavier cars have faster tire, brake and engine wear . Also gas milage gets worse . these are all fact

someone should get a 2003 - 2006 350z same model, same fluids on a scale.

But I have no reason to believe Nissan change the way it weights cars. I think it really got 150lbs heavier.
