Default Thoughts/Opinions on my 1st batch of mods

Pulleys (not underdrive), JWT Popcharger, Crawford Polished Plenum, Crawford
TB, and Nismo Cams.

I was thinking about getting the Cams done at the dealer since i hear thats a difficult install...then get the rest done at my local performance shop. My goals are NA for now with HP goal of 280-290 whp. Do you guys think this is a good starting combo? What kind of gains should I expect? Any other input would be appreciated.

HEY ANAMOLY,

i have 3 questions for you.

1. Have you noticed a performance, or "feel" of your car shift higher or remain the same after you installed all these parts?

2. How fast is Crawford with delivering the goods you purchased, and what is the Crawford TB?

3. Why did you choose the JWT popcharger over AEM, and the INJEN RD series?? was it money issues, sound, performance etc etc, elaborate because I am going the same route as you in my first upgrade mods, except on top of everything, i will be giong with the KJR PERFORMANCE PULLEY, and DC SPORTS SS HEADERS.

Thanks for any feedback
GOOD JOB WITH THAT Z!!!

Havent installed them yet...Im about to order them and i just wanted to see what everyone thought first. I called the dealer about the install price of the nismo cams and they left me on hold for 10 years. And yes i've read that thread. I want to stay NA and im aiming for around 280 to the wheels. Again I Just wanted advice/suggestions from others who have experience with these mods.

I like the dollar value-horsepower of the bolt-ons that you listed. The exception is the cams; this mod costs about $1,500 (parts and labor). Instead, take a look at some exhaust mods.

I agree with davidv. Definately look into some exhaust mods. The sound of my Borla True Dual with the JWT Popcharger has almost convinced me to stick to NA. It sounds that good!!!!!

280-290rwhp your looking at these mods plus exhaust, hi-flow cats (maybe headers) reflashed ecu or better yet an aftermarket A/F tune. You also might want to look at the 3.9EVO final drive since it atleast will make it FEEL like you have 280rwhp.

Another good and fairly cost efficient thing to do would be to put in a JWT or other brand flywheel. The stocker is notoriously heavy and it will give you a lot better response with those mods and it'll feel faster and be faster.

Hey Liveoneva,

Do you prefer the JWT popcharger over the INJEN CAI? Everytime i read these forums, people either have popcharger or a Injen CAI, is there reasoning to using the Injen hosing unit, with the popcharger, a combined unit? I heard a lot of people use both the pop charger and another CAI system together, is this even possible??

I wanted to get all the engine bolt ons out of the way first. I was planning clutch and flywheel or exhaust make over for phase 2 of my modding. So is the general opinion that cams arent worth the money?

cams are definitly worth the money if they are the right ones for what you want to do. It should be a stage 3 mod though. Say you decide to go FI and want a different cam or stay na and want a more aggressive track opriented cam. Cams are something you want to do once only, they are very expensive to buy and install.
