Michael,
I thought once the 350 arrived, I wouldn't enjoy the NX anymore. Well, turned out the NX is still fun to drive. I love the sound of the engine (with JWT intake, Hotshot header and stock exhaust) at full song much more than the Z's. Plus, the way I've set the suspension up, I find it more tail happy as well.
How about you?
Cameron

I didn't pre-order a 350, but got a ride in one so I knew exactly what I was getting into.
The SE-R is more challenging, more practical, and far cheaper to drive than the 350 or 300. The 300 is a rocketship and harder to drive (i.e. loud as hell, stiff clutch, etc.). The 350 offers the good qualities of both.
But in some cases, the SE-R seems more of a sports car than the 350 with its lightweight and bare bones everything (no p/w, no p/l, etc.). I'm just fortunate enough to be able to experience all these cars. I thought I would never enjoy the SE-R, but it truly is a fun daily driver -- I really underestimated the car.
If I got rid of the SE-R, then I would probably replace it (along w/ the 300) w/ a low mileage E36 M3.
Anyway, the only mods I have on the SE-R is timing advance to 21* (runnin 93 octane) and the K&N panel filter. I had a warm-air induction cone filter, but decided to swap back to the stock box. I figure the warm-air was killing me and going back to stock made the car a little quieter. I've been thinking about getting an exhaust, but I want one that sounds close to stock. Are headers really what they're cracked up to be on the sr20?

It seems that eveyone who has lived with an NX or SE-R wants one day to move up to the E36 M3. Nearly all my track buddies have the 95 model. People will never understand how SE-R owners will only swap their car for an M3. On paper, it would appear to be a giant leap, but, some very fortunate people know the numbers do not tell the whole story. The new Spec V totally lacks the almost Italian personality of the old SE-R/NX, even if it is a lot of car for the money. At least Nissan will have a track hit in the 350 with professionals just like the SE-R has been with enthusiasts.
Speaking of weight, my NX is down to 2395lbs and I have another 95 to go to get it race ready. If people think the 350Z is fun, they should try racing a car under 2200lbs. It will blow your mind.
The header is good, but, doesn't justify the money. Although, they sound good and the last gen Hotshot doesn't "crack" as easily.
I see us getting moved "off topic" if we keep this up
