exhaust noise in the cold vs heat...
Anyone of you Z owners with stock exhaust notice that when you drive your car in the colder weather, your exhaust screams a little louder? or maybe it's just me....in Houston, TX, our temperature is usually around 80-100+, and I haven't had a chance to drive it in the winter...so these last few days, as the temperature dropped down to upper 50s, I like to drive with my windows down for the cool air and to hear my exhaust sing....i like the sound better...maybe it's just me, or maybe it does roar louder when it's colder...??? I've only added the JWT popcharger in mine, everything else is stock....
I never really noticed it other than the fact that when it gets a little cool outside I like to ride with the windows down too.
There is some scientific basis for your observation though. Cold air is more dense and sound travels better through a dense medium. So yes, it probably a tiny bit louder.

What he said!
Denser air causes more back pressure on the pipes so it resonates on the pipes when it is forced out of your muffler.
Good reason why the pipes are singing at idle when you first start the car in the morning. Once it's warm it quiets down a bit.
i love the sound of the car...that's really what sold me on this car..haha...i was gonna change out the exhaust, but didn't because it would sound loud like an aftermarket exhaust....that 3.5L engine has that patented sound..haha
