I have an 05 base and the interior is grey or charcoal colored. Now most of you guys have the same dash but in a few pictures it looks like some of the dashes are darker, almost black. Was this an option for the nicer trims or just the lighting?

yeah, ive seen that greyish dash. I tried to avoid getting that color as much possible. I think its the color dash everytime with a frost interior option.

oh no, dont get me wrong, frost interior is the bomb, i wish i had it with my PPW. but just the grey dash without the other frost trim is what i didnt want. If I had to do it all over again. Instead of the black, I would have gone frost. I just dont dig the grey center console without the rest of the frost trim.

this is my first picture post so here goes... this is grey/charcoal as far as i can tell and not black..... so how did you guys even get black? the only interior option i thought was available was "carbon cloth" i think it was.

I noticed a lot of that lighter grey on the 2003 models. It is what initially scared me away from the 350z. I couldn't live with it. I later saw a 2004 and the inside was black, much much better

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. I didn't like that light grey interior and started looking at G35. The following year, when I was getting closer to buying I noticed the interior color had gone from a grey to a black. I thought it was the outside color SS that changed my perception of the interior color. I checked my other buddies '03 since then and have notice mine is darker, almost a black in color.

I do wish they had put in a darker headliner and visors to go with the interior. I don't understand why they went with frost headliner. I wish it matched the dash in color.

First, lets negate frost interior.

Concerning charcoal, yes, I can tell the difference between 2003 and 2004 by looking at the dash color. Its a significant difference.
