Why do people think G35 is a class higher than 350z?

OK let me tell yall what i think, honestly if i really wanted back seats i would of bought the g35 sedan more bang for the buck, and it even comes in a 6 speed, oh and did yall know that the sedan g weighs about 50 pounds less that the g coupe,,, anyways if i had the money i would buy a g35 sedan....use it as a daily....and keep the Z for mad mods.

So what about that Renesis powered POC called RX-8? I heard it gets 16mpg and makes about 220hp. The thing looks like a pregnent Pikachu and Mazda calls it a true sport car. Wow, that's something eh?

it's cheaper to get g35 in canada unless you are getting g35c 6mt

Yea but think about it this way....that 50 lbs is a difference between the drivers weight and passangers.
With a four door, I am almost willing to bet you will always have alot more passangers than someone with the 50lb heavier coupe.

I have a G35 coupe. I previously had a 350z on order before it was released. After the Z arrived, i realized that there was no way I could live with a 2 seater car, especially one that was going to cost in excess of $30K. I passed up on my order, then purchased a G35 coupe after it was released.
I do think that the Z is a better looking sports car. However, I also think that the G35 coupe is a beautiful luxury sports coupe. Yes, it is a luxury car. The infiniti service department is excellent and provides loaner cars, something a nissan dealer will not do. Plus, the 4 year 60K warranty is a plus because i drive in excess of 15K miles a year.
Say what you will, but the cars are related and always will be. The G35 IS the luxury version of the Z. It competes with the BMW 330 and has the bells and whistles needed to be considered a luxury car.
Bottom line, I would have bought a Z if I had another vehicle on the side to use that was more practical. Since I dont, the G coupe was the logical choice. Not to mention the number of times I have driven home friends from parties and what not (im a college student). I definitely couldn't have done that with the Z...

I love the Z much better because its me and the car, not me and a bunch of people in the car. I plan on keeping the Z for a long time, so I don't need the dealership to take care of me. Besides, its not my commute car, but my rain-free grocery and weekend car. If I had the G, I would run it like an everyday car, but I have the Z which I like to drive when I feel like it. Infiniti badge on a Z, I'd still use it like a 2nd car. Its not the brand, but the model of the car that makes me.

first of all, I started this thread because people were saying g35, not g35c, is more expensive and class higher than 350z and if you wanted to compare price of g35c with 350z, you should look at price of 350z gtr,too , shouldn't you?

The problem is that you really cant compare the G35 sedan to the 350Z. They are different cars with different purposes. Regardless of price similarities, they aren't in the same category.
That is why a lot of people are discussing the G35 coupe.
For the record, you don't need to be older or have a kid in order to justify a G35 imo. It is all based on preferences. In Cali, G35 coupes are driven commonly by people in their mid twenties. It's all a matter of personal preference.
I just feel that the G35 coupe gives you the best of both worlds (sports/luxury car AND practicality), hence my decision to purchase it over the 350z.

So what?
If your going racing you dont bring anyone with you if your serious about weight!!!
The C cant be compaired to the Sedan just like the Z cant be compaired to the Z, were talking grapes vs. oranges.....
I like my seadan, having driven the coupe, yes the C is alttle funner to drive but my back seat passengers love the sedan, hell its got more leg room than most BMW!!!
Z Vs G should not create such a division amongst us!!!
Personally, I like the sedan, it looks more ''sleeper'' than the C, and nothing beats taking some ricer out at the red light while driving a 4 door SEDAN!!!
Lets try to get along
Peace
Respect
and G/Z love to you all

BOTTOM LINE!
Any one of us could have bought either car if we wanted to. They are priced so similarly that it probably wouldn't have been too difficult to pay more for one model over another.
With that said, we picked our respective cars based on our needs and preferences. One is NOT better than the other. They are essentially equals with some minor advantages and disadvantages to both cars.
Let's leave it at that so we can all be one big, united community. It shouldn't matter if we have a 350Z or a G35. Point is, we all have similar tastes in sexy automobiles!

very true
however, the only reason I brought sedan price up was because GEE35X was accusing me of lying about price of g35, showing prices of g35 coupe, and stating that he wouldn't have gotten his sedan if he was younger.
being older and have kid thing was just being sacastic to his message
g35c was my favourite car and my #1 choice before I fell in love with 350z...
and if I were to choose from g35c and 350z again, it would still be very hard decision as it was before.
I respect g35c as it is very sexy looking car that shares lots of similiarity with 350z. I just didn't like some people's attitude towards 350z.. especially g35 sedan driver who think his car is superior to 350z because his brother coupe is more expensive than 350z cousin in some cases...

I also said that I love the Z, I was not bashing them which I think is ridiculous cause they are all from the same family just different uses and targeted to different people.
Enjoy your ride, I know I am .

I have driven two seater cars for the last 3 years and I just bought a G35 coupe and I fit me and 6 girls in there last night. I am not saying it was comfortable but damn some funny pictures.
