I do not agree. Physically assaulting someone is not needed. Let the cops handle it, that's why they are there.

Seriously. It's an object that has no real value in the big picture. *shrugs* I've never understood this one... I really haven't.

Back on topic, it depends on what insurance company you have, they all act differently. I understand though dude. I've got a 1000 deductable as well. I'm a full time student who pays for classes every semester out of pocket. Money in my wallet is stretched pretty thin most of the time.

Having been in the exact same situation I understand completely. I still don't think it was called for. That's just me though. I think there are better ways to solve situations.

Like I responded to the other guy. It's only an object. It has no real value in the long run....

I'm sorry, but personally, I do not agree with you...he has NO VALUE in my life....i guess I'm inhumane, but I see my property as higher ranking in life than his living soul....he has no reason to do what he did...just because someone has something better than him, he had to go deface their property....My car really has REAL BIG VALUE in my life compare to what he's done....HE HAS NO F*4KG RESPECT FOR ANOTHER PERSON'S PROPERTY...I FEEL FURIOUS WHEN I THINK OF HIS SORRY @SS WALKING OFF RIGHT AFTER HE'S KEYED MY CAR AND THINKING TO HIMSELF, I DID THAT CAR GOOD.....IF WE WERE IN A BACK ALLEY AND NO ONE WILL EVER FIND OUT, I WOULD LOVE TO CONFRONT HIM AND HOLD THE GUN BETWEEN HIS EYES AND TELL HIM WHAT HE DID, JUST TO SEE THE FEAR ON HIS FACE WHEN HE REALIZES THAT WHAT HE DID AND THOUGHT WAS FUN HAS NOW COSTED HIM HIS LIFE....THEN I WILL PULL THE TRIGGER RIGHT WHEN HE THINKS TO HIMSELF, "OH ****, WHAT IF I DIDN'T DO THAT TO HIS CAR, WILL I STILL BE ALIVE TO SEE THE SUN GO UP TOMORROW?"

(I'm sorry, this thread is really making me furious and bringing the bad side out of me...therefore, I will resign myself from this thread)

As Chris Rock once said, "While I don't necessarily I agree with what he did, I understand.."
Right or wrong, that little punk got what he deserved. I'm sure that's not the first time he's done someone wrong. Just this time he got his **** handed to him. I'm sure he'll think twice before doing something like that again. It might also saved another Z owner grief and money.
If the kid was caught on tape or there were witnesses, yes go to the cops and do things the legal way. In this case the kid knew he'd get away with it...
I'd just sneak in a few keymarks on his car and maybe a flat tire or two for good measure.

wow, if that's what he said to you, an ounce of his blood on your hands is not nearly enough...

As someone whos car has recently been keyed id either do what you did or go out and destroy his car too. or both. See people who say "just call teh police and file a claim blah blah" nothing will happen. Its a case of he said she said. Your screwed. Even if the kid some how fesses up he wont have any money to pay for it. It will just drain more time out of your life. People an *** beating is the only thing that could possibly teach kids like that a lesson. The law cant/wont help you bc you have no proof. I say bravo sir. Maybe it wasnt the mature thing to do but it was the right thing to do. You probably saved someone elses car from being keyed bc now he will think twice. You have my thanks

like i said, i can understand everyone/anyone getting pissed in that situation, but i think a lot of you need to actually think about what you're saying. even if you called the cops, and nothing happened, you'll still have to pay to get the damaged fixed. why the hell add on going to jail on top of that? and not to mention, in today's society, approaching some thug like that, you never know what he could or could not have on him. is it worth going to jail? is it worth getting shot/stabbed/jumped? (on a side note, also in today's society i wouldnt want anyone's blood on me.) i understand/agree the punk need to be taught a lesson, but at what cost to you?

i love the z.

but, its just a car.

(but i have to imaging kickin his @ss must have felt pretty damn good at the time)

Ya know, some of you guys have *****. Angel gets his car keyed, and you guys flame him for kicking the sh*t out of the a55hat who did it?? The only mistake Angel made was getting caught. He is 10000% right for doing what he did. F*ck that little ***** for starting it, he had no reason to do that. If that was my car, I would have beat him like he owed me money. We need more people like Angel to keep the a55hole population in check.

I'm sorry about your car dude, I really am. But you point out his maturity level but then go on to point out how you went on to physically assault him!?!? It really isn't making you look like the more mature one.... it's really not.

Need Z,

**EDIT**

Check with your insurance company. Many times the deductable for comp is a lot lower than you regular deductable. I think that $500 comp is standard on a $1000 deductable policy. So, you might not have to pay the whole bill. I lowered my comp to $50 on all my vehicules but kept my deductable at $500 for collision. It only cost a few dollars more to lower the comp. However, I lot more to lower the collision part of the policy. I would recommend this for all of us with Z cars. There are just too many screwed up people in this world that do not respect others property.

Oh, the good part is on comp claims it doesn't go against you towards your rate. However, I beat that if you got two or three of these types of claims in the same year, on the same car, the insurance company would try something.

My recent story:

Motorhome at storage yard. Storage yard decides they are going to reroof behind my Motorhome. They don't call me to move the Motorhome. Worker stomp on my $1200 antenna (Satellite) bust the tail lights and cover it with Duct tape residue. I spent the next two days cleaning duct tape and where they tracked paint onto the roof of my Motorhome.
Storage yard says not there fault contact the roofer. They won't give me the name or number for them. Contract says they are not responsible for damage.
However, I am sure a court would hold them responsible in part at least.
I had to go to the city get a name from the permit office.
Then I thought, call the insurance company. They say, "Don't worry about it. Pay your $50 ded to us we'll fix it and go after these guys. You might even get your $50 bucks back." That is a lot easier than the other options I came up with:

So, I lucked out, the tail lights were still available, the antenna got replaced with a new one and all is right in the world again. I just hope the insurance company give these guys he!! for this. I have pictures and the storage owner says she saw them on top the Motorhome. I still wonder, "Why didn't you tell them to get off before they broke something?" Boils down to people do not respect other people's property anymore.

What was once a nightmare of over $1500 is now a $50 inconvenice. I still want my time for cleaning and $50 buck back but, that just isn't going to happen.

I hate it when you have to fix stuff that other people bust!

Sad to hear about the car, and your apparent inability to control your anger. I’m not in your shoes, and will not judge you actions. “Getting arrested” and found “guilty” of assault (I assume that you assaulted the vandal) are two different things. The chance of finding yourself in court is slim.

Best wishes with the repair.
