Default Its a little late to ask but...

it looks like its going to cost you $540/month to drive a new 350Z. At the end of the lease, you’ll be shopping for another car with no trade-in. But heck, if its OK with you then its certainly OK with me.

Hmm...tough to say without knowing what %APR you could have qualified for if financing. A 6% rate over 60mo with your down payment would probably land you around $100 above your lease payment. And you will have something to show for it at the end of the contract term. But that's just me. I know many people who would just do what you're doing. Congrats anyway!

If cali is anything like PA, on a lease you pay tax each month not up front. So when the dealer says you have a payment of 400/mth it is really 400/mth +9.0% sales tax each month. Or he could just have been breaking down your down payment into the monthly figures. Does your down payment include incentives, first month, tags, security deposity, bank fee, etc... or does that still need to be added in?

4(years) x 12(months in a year) = 48

$2300(down payment) / 48 = $48 a month....... $48+$492 = $540

540 x 48 = $25,920 You could buy almost buy a Base outright with that and have maybe 15K worth of trade in value after 4 years. Then again you couldn't beat the sn*t out of it and turn it back in. Just be careful, Nissan likes to stick it to you for each scratch and nick at the end of lease turn in. You get like three small scratches and after that they expect you to pay to fix the rest or they hit you hard with fees.
My cars at the end of lease turn in were almost perfect they had to give me all my money back on the deposit. I almost had to buy a new set of tires .... But, I squeeked by. Leases can be tough on turn in. Good luck !!

A friend of mine got lucky when he turned-in his lease car. He went on his lunch break during a torrential rain. He told the guy receiving the car he had to get back to work, so the guy asked him if it was in good shape, my friend said, "Yep!" and the guy let him go without even looking at the car!
