Smooth350,
I'm with you. I ordered mine in November and asked for an April delivery. I did this because I live in New England and the snow fall here has already surpassed last years totals. I keep telling myself it will be soon enough. Hang in there. Jeff

Default NO quit waiting guys!

Hey guys QUIT WAITING! I ordered a daytona blue performace back in july. That car has still not arrived but its due in January sometime. Anyway on the 23rd of this month I visited a dealership locally and they had 6 in stock. Not only that after disecting the daytona blues they had I discovered I liked the Sunset color just as much. So I visited my old dealership and had my deposit refunded. In most cases you should be able to get your deposit back but have a good story and be persistent. It will not be easy and was not in my case but guess what ! Anyway I did end up buying a tourning over my performance but they good thing is I talked them $1100 off MSRP! I live in NC and plenty of Z's are around. I am not joking so check around and quit waiting! If you want dealership names thats around me reply and I will help anybody. GoodLuck and go get your a Z NOW! Andy!

I finally decided I wanted the Zzzzzzzz now instead of in Feb or March. So I went to the Nissan USA site and used the "search dealer inventory" to find other Zzzz in NorCal; ended up buying one from dealer couple hundred miles south and cancelled the one on order.

Car arrives at my front door tomorrow.

Had to "upgrade" to a Performance to get a Brick w/o areo package but thats okay.

good chance they are. if you can get your deposit back(which you should be able to) then you dont lose anything, I would gaurentee you could find a car close to your specs sitting on a lot right now. within a few hundred miles if you dont mind doing a little driving.

What deposit? Who would put up a deposit on an order? No, I did not lose a cent.

Well, someone who would want to be more certain that the dealer wouldn't sell the car right out from under them when it comes in. If you've been reading posts here for a while, you've seen that some dealers have tried to do essentially that. They've added stuff or extra charges to the car and asked for the person ordering the car to pay for it, aparently trying to either make some extra profit or maybe run them off so they can sell the car at a higher profit - IMHO. At least a deposit binds them more to sell the car to you when it comes in.

I know, Wayne. I just did not like the assumption above that I lost a deposit because I switched.

Oh, OK. We're all glad you didn't lose any $$$. No one wants to see another Z'er get cheated.

Look for some other threads on this. Someone made an argument that, if you still buy a Z (even if not from that dealer), you should be able to get your deposit back. You may have to call a Nissan regional rep to get some leverage applied, however. Maybe someone else will remember more on this....

smooth,

At the time you put up the G I would think you signed a piece of paper. See what the paper says about your deposit. If you did not sign anything, they have little reason not to refund it. If you push the issue, say thru a local paper or TV station consumer advocate, the dealership gets some bad PR.
